THE CROWN HE WORE FOR YOU
Galatians 3:13 & Matthew 27:26

THE WRONG CROWN
Imagine a king. You expect gold, jewels, power.
But on the night before Jesus died, they gave Him a different crown.
Twisted thorns. Pressed into His head until blood ran down His face.
Matthew 27:29

Why thorns? Because thorns mean something. And we’re going to see things from The Crown He Wore For You.

Jesus took the curse so you could receive the blessing.

I. THE CROWN OF THE CURSE
Galatians 3:13- "being made a curse for us"

A. Where did thorns come from?
Genesis 3:18 - After Adam sinned, God said "thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth".
Thorns = the result of sin. Life got hard, painful, and full of curse.

B. What is "the curse of the law"?
Deut 27:26 "Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things written in the book of the law to do them."
The law says: Be perfect or be cursed.
We’ve all lied, hated, been selfish. We’ve broken it. James 2:10
So the verdict is: Guilty. Under curse.

It’s like failing a test where you need 100% to pass. 99% is still failure.

II. THE CROWN OF THE CROSS
Deuteronomy 21:23 - "Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree"

A. Jesus became what we were
Paul quotes this verse in Galatians 3:13.
Jesus didn’t just die. He died on a tree - the cross.
He took the legal curse and stood in our place.

B. Every thorn had a purpose
1. Thorns from Genesis - He took the curse of a broken world
2. Thorns from the soldiers - He took the shame and mockery of man
3. Thorns that drew blood- He paid for our sin with His blood

On the cross it was a divine trade. He got our sin, we get His righteousness. 2 Cor 5:21

III. THE CROWN OF THE CHRISTIAN
Galatians 3:13 - "Christ hath REDEEMED us from the curse"

"Redeemed" = paid the price to buy someone out of slavery.

Because He wore thorns, we now get:

A. Freedom from Condemnation - Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation..."
B. Freedom from Bo***ge - The power of sin is broken
C. Freedom for Blessing- Gal 3:14 "that we might receive the promise of the Spirit"

Some of you are wearing invisible crowns of thorns. Anxiety, Addiction, Guilt, Failure.
Jesus wore a literal crown of thorns so He could remove your crown of thorns.

CONCLUSION: THE CHOICE
The curse was transferred to the cross.
Now the blessing is offered to you.

2 Options:
1. Stay under the curse - Keep trying to be good enough. It won’t work.
2. Receive the Redeemer - Let Jesus take the curse for you.

If you’ve never received Him today, and pray with me:
"Lord Jesus, I admit I’m a sinner. I believe You took the curse for me on the cross.
I receive You now as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for redeeming me. Amen."

Stop living like you’re still under the curse.
You’re redeemed. Walk in freedom. Walk in the Spirit.

One day Isaiah 55:13a will be true: "Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree."
No more pain. No more curse.
Because of the crown He wore.

WE HAVE SURE INHERITANCE
Romans 8:17 KJV

THE WILL HAS BEEN READ
Pag namatay ang mayaman, binabasa yung will. Lahat ng anak may parte.
Sa langit, binasa na yung Will ni God. At ang nakasulat: "To My children..."
At ikaw, anak ka. Kaya SURE yung mana mo.

I. THE CONDITION
"IF CHILDREN" verse 17a

“And if children, then heirs”
1. Adopted - v15 "Spirit of adoption" - Legal ka na
2. Witnessed - v16 "The Spirit beareth witness" - May ebidensya na
3. Sealed - Eph 1:13 - Hindi na mababago

Hindi ka heir dahil mabuti ka. Heir ka dahil anak ka.

II. THE CONFIRMATION
"HEIRS OF GOD" verse 17b

“heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ”
Ano yung mana natin? Hindi pera lang.

1. HEIR OF GOD
- Lahat ng meron sa Ama, sayo. Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want"
2. JOINT-HEIR WITH CHRIST
- 50/50. Kung ano kay Jesus, sayo din. Col 2:10 "ye are complete in him"
3. SEALED INHERITANCE
- 1 Peter 1:4 "incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away"

Hindi ito tulad ng lupa na nababaha o stocks na bumabagsak. SURE ito.

III. THE COST
"SUFFER WITH HIM" verse 17c

“if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”
Hindi ibig sabihin kailangan mahirapan ka muna bago ka maging heir.
Ang ibig sabihin: Kung anak ka, makakasama ka sa lahat.
Sa suffering and sa glory.
Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

WAYS TO LIVE LIKE AN HEIR

1. STOP LIVING LIKE A BEGGAR
Anak ka ng King pero namamalimos sa takot at pangamba.
Philippians 4:19 “my God shall supply all your need”

2. STOP FEARING THE FUTURE
Faith over fear kasi SURE yung inheritance.
Yung Holy Spirit yung "earnest" o downpayment Eph 1:14

3. START LIVING LIKE JOINT-HEIRS
Kung ano si Cristo sayo, ganun ka din.
Loved, forgiven, victorious, protected.

“The case is closed. The Star Witness has testified.
The Will has been read.
Your inheritance is SURE. You are a child of God.”

Kung hindi mo pa alam na anak ka, ngayon tanggapin mo si Jesus.
Para maging heir ka din.

"THE STAR WITNESS"

Romans 8:16 KJV
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

Kaibigan, imagine nasa korte ka.
May kaso ka. At ang paratang sayo: "Hindi ka anak ng Diyos. Hindi ka ligtas."

Sino ipapatawag mong witness?
Kaibigan? Magulang? Pastor?

Pero ang Bible nagsabi sa Romans 8:16 KJV may STAR WITNESS tayo.
At pag nagsalita na ang Star Witness, tapos na yung kaso.

Who is He? The Holy Ghost.

Let’s open God’s Word.

I. THE IDENTITY OF THE STAR WITNESS
verse 16a
“The Spirit itself beareth witness...”

1. HE IS GOD
Hindi ito basta-bastang witness. Ito yung third Person ng Trinity.
John 15:26 KJV “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.”
Pag Siya ang nagsalita, final na yun.

2. HE IS FAITHFUL
Ang tao nagsisinungaling. Ang devil maninirang puri.
Pero ang Holy Spirit? Numbers 23:19 KJV “God is not a man, that he should lie”
What He says in your heart is TRUTH.

3. HE IS NEAR
Hindi mo kailangan mag-akyat sa langit para hanapin Siya.
Nasa loob mo na Siya
1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV
24/7. Sa trabaho, sa bahay, sa Pigcawayan, sa byahe. Siya yung witness na hindi umaalis.

Parang body cam ng pulis. Laging naka-record. Laging nandyan.
Ganun ang Holy Spirit sa buhay ng anak ng Diyos.

II. THE TESTIMONY OF THE STAR WITNESS

“...with our spirit, that we are the children of God”

Ano ang sinasabi ng Star Witness?

1. YOUR IDENTITY: “CHILD”
Verse 15 KJV “ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
Hindi na "servant". Hindi na "alipin".
Anak na. May apelyido ka na: "Son/Daughter of God"

2. YOUR ASSURANCE: “YOU ARE”*
Hindi "baka". Hindi "sana".
“that we ARE the children of God” Present tense.
Ngayon na. Segurado na.

Paano mo malalaman na nagsasalita ang Star Witness?
1. Peace - Phil 4:7 Kahit gulo, payapa ka
2. Desire to pray - Bigla mo na lang gustong mag "Tatay"
3. Conviction - Tinutuwid ka, pero hindi ka iniwan
4. Love for brethren
- 1 John 3:14

Parang adopted baby. Hindi pa niya naiintindihan yung adoption papers.
Pero naririnig niya araw-araw: “Anak kita. Mahal kita.”
Yun yung ginagawa ng Holy Spirit sa spirit natin.

III. THE VERDICT OF THE STAR WITNESS

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ”

Pag napatunayan na anak ka, ano yung hatol ng korte?

1. INHERITANCE
Lahat ng kay Father, sayo na. Provision. Protection. Presence.
Hindi ka na pulubi sa kaharian.

2. FELLOWSHIP
“joint-heirs with Christ” Kasama ka ni Jesus.
Kung ano dinanas ni Jesus, dadanasin mo.
Kung ano glory ni Jesus, mapapasayo din.

3. SECURITY
Romans 8:38-39 KJV Walang makakapaghiwalay.
Kasi yung Star Witness mismo ang nagselyo sayo Ephesians 1:13 KJV

THINGS TO DO

1. WHEN THE DEVIL ACCUSES YOU
- CALL THE WITNESS
Revelation 12:10 Siya ang "accuser of the brethren"
Wag mo patulan. Sabihin mo: “Holy Spirit, testify. I am a child of God.”

2. WHEN YOU DOUBT YOUR SALVATION - LISTEN TO THE WITNESS
Hindi feelings ang basehan. Yung witness sa loob.
May peace ka ba? May desire ka ba kay God? Yun na yun.

3. WHEN YOU PRAY
- TALK LIKE A CHILD
Abba, Father. Hindi formal. Hindi takot.
Kasi may karapatan ka. Anak ka eh.

THE CASE IS CLOSED

Beloved, maraming tao pagod na patunayan sa sarili nila na mahal sila ng Diyos.
Pagod na sa performance. Pagod na sa guilt.

Pero ngayon, naririnig mo ba?
Yung STAR WITNESS nagsasalita na sa puso mo:
“You are My child.”

THE TRINITY IN SALVATION
Ephesians 1:3-14 KJV

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ... In whom we have redemption through his blood... In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise"

I. GOD THE FATHER
THE PLANNER OF SALVATION

What He Did:
1. He CHOSEN US
- Ephesians 1:4 KJV
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world”
2. He PREDESTINATED US

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself”
3. He GAVE THE SON

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son”

Role:
The Architect. The Father designed and purposed our salvation before time began.

II. GOD THE SON
THE PURCHASER OF SALVATION

What He Did:
1. He REDEEMED US
- Ephesians 1:7 KJV
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace”
2. He JUSTIFIED US
- Romans 5:9 KJV
“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him”
3. He RAISED US TO NEW LIFE
- Romans 6:4 KJV
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead... even so we also should walk in newness of life”

Role:
The Redeemer. The Son paid the price on Calvary and rose again.

III. GOD THE HOLY GHOST
THE APPLIER OF SALVATION

What He Did:
1. He SEALED US
- Ephesians 1:13 KJV
“In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise”
2. He REGENERATED US
- Titus 3:5 KJV
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost”
3. He IS OUR EARNEST
- Ephesians 1:14 KJV
“Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory”

Role:
The Agent. The Holy Ghost applies what Christ accomplished and seals us until the day of redemption.

CONCLUSION:
Salvation is of the Father, by the Son, through the Spirit, to the praise of His glory

The only tomb in history that was borrowed, sealed, and still ended up EMPTY.

THE WELL THAT NEVER RUNS DRY

I. THE THIRST

SWEET BEULAH LAND
Text: Isaiah 62:1-5 KJV

We are pilgrims. This world is not our home.

I. BEULAH DEFINED
Isaiah 62:4 KJV

“thy land shall be called Beulah: for the LORD hath delight in thee”

A. Meaning- Beulah = “married”. Land that belongs to the Lord. No more divorce, no more war.
B. Name Change- v4 “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken”
C. God’s Delight- “the LORD delighteth in thee” - Psalm 37:4 KJV “Delight thyself also in the LORD” = Mutual delight

Beulah is not geography. It’s relationship. It’s Heaven.

II. BEULAH DESCRIBED
Isaiah 62:1-5 KJV

A. No More Night - v1 “righteousness thereof go forth as brightness” Revelation 21:23 KJV “no need of sun”
B. No More Shame - v4 “no more termed Desolate” - John 8:36 KJV “free indeed”- Walang condemnation Romans 8:1

WARNING: DANGER OF THE LION’S ATTACK
1 Peter 5:8 KJV “your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”

When the Danger is Near, The Warning is Mercy

I. DANGER REVEALED - 1 Peter 5:8c KJV

“your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion”

A. Defined Enemy - “adversary” = antidikos = legal opponent. May case siya laban sa’yo Revelation 12:10 KJV “accuser”
B. Disguised Enemy - “as a roaring lion” = Hindi siya lion. Nagkukunwaring lion. 2 Cor 11:3 KJV “beguiled Eve”- Panlilinlang muna bago pag-atake.
C. Determined Enemy - “walketh about”= peripateō = “continuous walking”. 24/7 patrol. Walang break si satan.

II. DANGER RECOGNIZED -
1 Peter 5:8a KJV
“Be sober, be vigilant”

A. Sober = Clear Mind- No spiritual drunkenness. Hindi lasing sa social media, galit, self-pity, bisyo. Romans 12:3 KJV “soberly”
B. Vigilant = Open Eyes - grēgoreō = “wake up!”. Matthew 26:41 KJV “Watch and pray” - Si Peter natulog → bumagsak.
C. Sober + Vigilant = Safe - Pag gising ka at clear ka, di ka madadala ng lion.

“You can’t fight a lion while you’re sleeping.”

III. DANGER RESISTED
1 Peter 5:9 KJV

“Whom resist stedfast in the faith”

A. Resist Command - James 4:7 KJV “Resist the devil, and he will flee”- Hindi ka biktima. May authority ka kay Cristo!
B. Stedfast Posture- stērizō = “set, firm, planted”. Gaya ni Paul sa stocks Acts 16:24 - di umalis, nag-praise lang.
C. In the Faith - 1 Tim 1:12 KJV “counted me faithful” - Faithfulness = shield mo Ephesians 6:16 KJV “shield of faith”

Lion umaatake → pero ikaw nakatayo sa faith. Hindi ka tatakbo. Lalaban ka sa Word.

IV. DANGER REVERSED
1 Peter 5:10 KJV
“after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you”

A. Suffered a While - Lion attack = temporary. Hindi forever.
B. Stablish/Strengthen/Settle - Gagawin kang mas matibay.
C. Supremacy of Christ- v11 “To him be glory and dominion” Lion roars, but Christ reigns.

Romans 8:37 KJV“in all these things we are more than conquerors” Attacked ka pero hindi defeated.

CHECK YOUR SPIRITUAL RADAR

Naririnig mo ba roar? - Inggit, takot, “hindi ka sapat” = boses ng lion.

Sober ka ba o tulog? - Prayer life mo kamusta? Vigilant ka ba?

Resist ka ba o give up? - Tumayo ka! “Counted faithful” ka. 1 Tim 1:12. Di ka kakainin ng lion.

Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, danger is near. Lion is walking. Make me sober. Make me vigilant. I resist him in Your Name. After attack, stablish me, strengthen me, settle me. Amen.”

Psalm 37:1-9 KJV

The Secret of Satisfied Saints

I. DECISION: DELIGHT THYSELF
verse 4a

A. Delight = Dwell - Hebrew: anag = “soft, pliable, tender”. Yung puso mo malambot kay Lord. Hindi matigas.
B. Delight = Depend - Hindi lang “serve the LORD”. Enjoy the LORD. John 15:11 KJV “that your joy might be full”
C. Delight = Daily - “thyself” = ikaw mismo. Personal, daily choice. Hindi one-time. Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV “new every morning”

II. DIRECTION: DESIRES OF THINE HEART
verse 4b
“he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”

A. Desires Defined - Pag nag-delight ka kay Lord, ina-align Niya desires mo sa desires Niya. Ezekiel 36:26 KJV “new heart also will I give you”
B. Desires Delivered “he shall give” Hebrew: nathan = “put, place, bestow”. Ibibigay, itatanim, ilalagay ni Lord sa puso mo.
C. Danger: Distorted Desires v1-2 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers” Pag hindi delight kay Lord, inggit desires mo.

“Don’t chase your desires. Chase the Lord, and He’ll place the right desires in you.”

III. DEPENDENCE: DON’T FRET
verse 1, verse 5, verse 7
A. Don’t Fret v1 “Fret not thyself” = wag mag-init ulo, mag-alala. Worry = worship ng problema.
B. Do Trust v5 - “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him”- Commit = galal= “roll over”. I-roll mo kay Lord burden mo.
C. Don’t Haste v7 - “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him” - Waiting = worship din.

Psalm 37:7 KJV “Rest in the LORD” Pag nag-delight ka, nagre-rest ka. Pag nag-fret ka, napapagod ka.

CHANGE YOUR DELIGHT, CHANGE YOUR DESIRES

1. Ano delight mo ngayon? - Pera, tao, bisyo, reputation? Psalm 37:4 = test ng puso.
2. Tama ba desires mo? - Pag delight mo si Lord, desires mo = “save souls, please God, holiness”
3. Gusto mo ba i-rest kay Lord? - v7 “Rest in the LORD”- Bitawan mo fret, kunin mo delight.

“Lord Jesus, You’re better than my desires. I choose to delight in You today. Alter my desires. Give me Your desires. I rest in You. Amen.”
