All local chapters of the UMYFP are requested to
celebrate the National UMYFP Sunday on every
3rd Sunday of January every year, which
coincides to 20 January 2019. This is in
remembrance of the First National Youth
Conference of our predecessor organization,
Methodist Youth Fellowship, on January 1952 in
Guimba, Nueva Ecija. In thiscelebration, we seek
that the vital part of United Methodist youth in
the ministries of the Church be highlighted.
UMYFP Sunday of this year is themed “Pag-
isahin sa Bigkis ng Pag-big.” This may include the
singing of the National Youth Theme Song, Si
Kristo Higit sa Lahat and having the youth lead
the worship whenever practical and allowed
in your local contexts.
Furthermore, we request that every local
church, as an expression of support and
appreciation to the ministries of, by and for the
youth, will collect a Special Offering for the
Youth Ministries on that day. Of the total, 70%
shall remain in the local chapter of UMYFP and
30% shall be forwarded to the District UMYFP
Chapter. The process shall be replicated as 30%
of the total collection of the district chapter shall
be forwarded to the Annual Conference UMYFP
Chapter and that 30% of such in the annual
confer-ence levels shall be forwarded to the
National Executive Committee who shall remit
the offerings to the Youth Service Fund of the
general Church that serves as a financial life-
line to ministries of, by and for the youth. The
70% that remained in the different levels of the
Fellowship shall be utilized by the respective
levels for their individual ministries.
