During the offertory of Apo Lorenz’s Presbyteral Ordination Anniversary (POA),, a quiet yet meaningful gesture unfolded.

It may seem like an ordinary garland, but in this moment, it carried a deeper meaning—a gesture not often seen, made to honor a priest whose years of service have touched the lives of many.

Through the flowers, gratitude was offered not only for his priesthood, but also for the countless moments of service, guidance, and presence he has shared with the community. A simple offering, captured in a moment that speaks more than words can say.

A time to honor the young men and women who faithfully serve at the Lord's altar with love and humility. We also remember 𝑺𝒕. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑩𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔 the patron saint of altar servers, whose life inspires us to serve God with joy, purity, and dedication. Through every Mass, we are called to be faithful, respectful, and willing servants of Christ. May this month encourage every altar server to grow stronger in faith and to continue serving with a joyful heart. Let us thank God for the gift of service and ask for St. John Berchmans' prayers as we continue our mission in the Church.

With hearts full of gratitude and hope, the young people of Saint James the Greater Parish – Pasuquin, together with our parishioners and convent personnel, joyfully welcomed the Vicarial Youth Cross from the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Pasaleng, Pagudpud, under the loving pastoral care of Rev. Fr. Mark Bernard Duerme.

The passing of the Vicarial Youth Cross is more than a tradition of the Northern Vicariate, it is a powerful symbol of Christ's presence among the youth, calling us to deepen our faith, strengthen our unity, and courageously answer His mission. As we receive this sacred cross, we also begin our spiritual preparation for the joyous celebration of the Feast of our beloved Patron, Saint James the Greater, protector of the Municipality of Pasuquin.

May this cross inspire every young person to walk faithfully with Christ, serve generously, and become living witnesses of His love.

Kalakbay - Northern Vicariate

𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 24, 2026 | 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we warmly welcomed His Excellency, Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, D.D., Bishop of Laoag, as he began his Pastoral Visit to Saint James the Greater Parish, Pasuquin.

Joining this meaningful occasion were our beloved Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Lorenzo G. Torreflores; Municipal Mayor Hon. Robert D. Aguinaldo; the Sangguniang Bayan Members and other LGU officials; our Parish Pastoral Council led by Mr. Tomas Tacata; the Parish Finance Council headed by Ms. Adelina Josue; PPC and PFC officers; committee heads; church organizations; parishioners; and honored guests.

Following the Bishop’s blessing, Bishop Rene proceeded to the Paredes Air Station for his pastoral encounter with the brave men and women of the Philippine Air Force. There, he celebrated the Holy Eucharist, shared fellowship through a boodle fight, strengthening the Church’s mission of communion, service, and evangelization.

May this pastoral visit inspire us all to deepen our faith, strengthen our unity, and continue walking together as one Church under the guidance of our shepherd.
