HISTORY OF SAN AGUSTIN PARISH
The parish priest of the Immaculate Conception Parish (ICP), Msgr. Emmanuel Sunga, felt the need of the people for a new parish to be created. This is due to the fact of the increasing number of the faithful in Barangay Palatiw, Barangay Santo Tomas and Barangay San Miguel, and the zealousness of faith which requires the full attention. In January 1994, the Barrio Pas
toral Council (BPC) was made aware of this need which they themselves shared with Msgr. A series of prayer meetings and sharings happened. A month after, a formal letter of request to become a parish was sent to His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin, Archbishop of Manila. On September 1, 1994, an initial investigation by Archdiocesan Office of Research and Development (AORD) was done. The interview of BPC chairs were started by the AORD representative. This was followed by many other visits and dialogues with the ICP priests and BPC officers. On March 28, 1995 a follow-up letter, signed by less than a hundred BPC officers and members, was sent to His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin. The San Agustin Parish was officially established on May 31, 1995 at Market Avenue, Palatiw, Pasig City. The first parish priest was Rev. Emmanuel C. Hipolito followed by Fr. Apolinariao Matilos, Fr. Joven Antique, and Fr. Reynaldo Reyes, Fr. Jimmy Montecillo. The 6th Parish Priest, Rev. Emmanuel B. Judilla, OAD was installed last August 20, 2022 By His Excellency Most. Rev. Mylo Hubert C.
