Hindi Imahen ang sinasamba ng mga Katoliko, ito ang paraan para lalong makilala si Kristo na si Kristo mismo ang Sinasamba -
Exodus 25:18–20 (Ark of the Covenant)
“And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them… The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat.”
➡️ God commanded sacred images (cherubim) for worship space.
1 Kings 6:23–29 (Solomon’s Temple)
“In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood… He carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.”
➡️ God approved a temple full of sacred imagery.
The Bible does not forbid images themselves.
It forbids worshiping images as gods.
Juan 1:14
“Ang Salita ay naging tao at nanahan sa gitna natin.”
Dahil ang Anak ng Diyos ay nagkatawang-tao, ang Diyos ay naging nakikita sa katauhan ni Hesus. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit maaaring ilarawan si Hesus.

👉 Ang banal na imahen ay tumutulong upang magnilay kay Kristo, hindi upang sambahin ang larawan.

👉 Ang imahen ay katulad ng Biblia—isa pang paraan ng pagpapahayag ng Mabuting Balita.

“The honor paid to sacred images is a respectful veneration, not the adoration due to God alone.”
👉 Hindi pagsamba ang ibinibigay sa imahen, kundi paggalang lamang.

“The use of sacred images is permitted… the honor rendered to them passes to their prototypes.”
👉 Ang parangal sa imahen ay napupunta kay Hesus, hindi sa bagay mismo.

Ito ang pinagbatayang aral ng CCC tungkol sa mga imahen.
Pinahihintulutan ng Simbahang Katolika ang paggawa ng mga imahen ni Hesus sapagkat ang Salita ay nagkatawang-tao. Ang imahen ay hindi sinasamba; ang parangal na ibinibigay dito ay napupunta kay Kristo na kinakatawan nito.”
