Exodus 24 — Old Covenant
God’s people enter into a covenant in God’s presence, and blood seals the covenant. They then eat and drink before God.

New Testament — New Covenant
Jesus establishes the New Covenant in God’s presence, saying, “This is my blood of the covenant” (Matthew 26:28), and gives Himself to us in the Eucharist.

Abraham is willing to offer his beloved son, Isaac. But God provides a ram instead.

New Testament: Isaac foreshadows Christ, the beloved Son whom God the Father gives for our salvation.

Jesus is the true Lamb—the sacrifice offered for us.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” — John 3:16

From the ram provided for Isaac, we begin to see the greater mystery: God will provide His own Lamb—Jesus Christ.

New Testament: That promised offspring is Christ (Galatians 3:16).

New Testament — Baptism:
The Flood becomes a sign pointing to Baptism: we die to the old life of sin and are brought into new life in Christ through water.
