30 years of God's faithfulness.
This is the MOCC family story...
1. Mount of Olives started from a bible study gathering in Mr. Cesar and Mrs.Lyn Guy's kitchen. There were a couple of families who joined the bible studies and the number of attendees grew so much that Bro. Cesar, Ptr. Dick and Elder Golez eventually decided to put up a church and move to a bigger place.
2. The church was then called Mount of Olives Church of Peace. And the first pastor who lead us was Ptr. Richard "Dick" Mirpuri and he served with his wife Lilian, with Mr. Golez, a close friend of the Guy Family as elder. Ptr. Dick has joined our Lord in heaven last April 2023.
3. Mount of Olives Church of Peace had the church services at the Salcedo Building in Makati. The church stayed there rent free by the grace of our Lord and the generous heart of the building owner who is also the owner of GMA 7.
4. During the time in Salcedo Building, the members included prominent personalities like Mr. Gary Valenciano and wife Angeli Pangilinan, Mr. Mark and Christine Manalang and singer Ms. Carla Martinez and her husband.
5. Eventually, Reverend Pastor Ernesto "Ernie" Lao from a church in Davao was asked to join Mount of Olives as an associate pastor since Ptr. Dick Mirpuri was almost always abroad in the United States. Ptr. Ernie Lao eventually became the Senior pastor of the Mount of Olives Christian Church and served with his wife Sis. Litz. Ptr. Ronnie Robles also served as associate pastor together with his wife, Sis. Lerma during this time. Ptr. Ernie was promoted to heaven last October 2025.
6. The church then transferred to the BPI building near Au Gusto Eatery just at the corner of West Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Due to the growing number of members, MOCC transfered to the Rizal Sports Complex (where Capitol Commons is now located). It was during this time that MOCC was attended by many popular basketball players in the PBA such as Mr. Alvin Patrimonio, Mr. Dondon Ampalayo, Mr. B**g Alvarez and many more.
7. By God's grace, MOCC kept on growing and needed to transfer to a bigger venues. The church transferred to the Pinausukan Restaurant along Shaw Boulevard and the Valle Verde Country Club for a time. It is also worth taking note that the venues were always within Pasig City.
8. Then the good Lord led us to the CAMACOP building where we are now. Pastor Ernie Lao was then followed by Reverend Pastor Faustino "Jun" Aguilar as Senior Pastor of MOCC in 2004. He served with his wife, Cynthia until July 2011. Pastor Jun is presently retired and living in Laguna with his family.
9. We would also like to mention and recognize the past elders of MOCC: 1. Cesar T. Guy 2. Baiverth Diabo 3. Ptr. Ron Robles 4. Andres "Andy" Pablo 5. Ret. Gen. Andy Superable 6. Ret. Col. Jojo Cenabres 7. Mr. Felix (from LTO) 8. Mr. Golez We cannot mention all the names of the people who served in the different ministries but all their sacrifices bear fruit to us all who are here now. Their names are written in God's book and the memories, the love and fellowship remains in our hearts forever.
10. From August 2011 to the present, we now have our present Senior Pastor, Reverend Pastor Amphriend Pacon serving with his wife, Joy and their daughter Ica.
We left the CAMACOP building and transferred to the D'Cup D' Cup Coffee Republic—Worldwide function hall on January 1. 2026 where we gather for church services every Sunday at 3:00pm onwards. It's been a very difficult but also rewarding transfer. We see God moving and leading us to challenge our faith and trust HIM for everything. Whatever and wherever God plans for us to be in the future, we trust HIM.
Since the official beginning of Mt Olives Christian Church to date, we are now marking 30 years with the Lord's faithfulness and amazing grace. We have been through times of happiness, up and downs, times of loss, struggle, victory, achievements, and victory. Through the years, God has always been with us.
We don’t know what tomorrow brings, but we are sure that the Lord Jesus Christ will always love and care for His bride, the church.
Soli Deo Gloria - All Glory to God Alone!
