You and I can learn something from the psalmist's experience of God. He proved time and time again the loyal love of the Almighty One who preserves his people. While being pursued by his enemies he discovered peace and wrote: “I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around….” “Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people!” (Psalm 3:5,6,8 ESV)

God, help me this day to rest on your benevolent nature. Enable me to fix my gaze on you as I anchor my faith in your saving grace. I need you. We need you. Deliver us from our present circumstances, if you will. Grant me wisdom to trust your heart amidst the darkness we face at present. I know that you shall ensure that your good, perfect will prevails. May I faithfully follow the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name I pray. Amen.

Words can both heal and hurt. In our day and age, there is an abundance of words thrown left and right, front and back. Given this environment, we need to be more thoughtful before we speak, write or post. We need to be slow to speak. Instead we ought to be quick to listen. A wise saying from the Bible reads: “Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.” (Proverbs 17:27,28 ESV)

Lord, create in me a clean heart so that my speech may be helpful or beneficial to others. Enable me to give someone the gift of listening. When I open my mouth or write a message to someone, may my words build up, heal and help that person. Holy Spirit, I lean on your help, as I relate with others. Through Christ, our Lord, I humbly ask. Amen.

God’s mission is not only for pastors, missionaries, or those called overseas. It is for the whole Church. 🌏👣

Every follower of Jesus is called to take part in making disciples of all nations.

Through GCF Missions, we seek to equip and mobilize God’s people through missional discipleship, so that every GCFer may engage in missions locally and globally.

You don’t have to feel ready. God can use your life, your gifts, your work, your relationships where you are. The Great Commission is a command for all of us. Our obedience matters in God’s mission.
