��“For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.” (Psalm 86:5-7 ESV). ��

You and I face trouble or troubles daily. When you are faced with one, especially something that you feel is hard to deal with, where do you run to for help? The psalmist was wise to turn to the one true God, whose power is unlimited and whose goodness is overwhelming. In today’s Scripture passage in Psalm 86, the psalter affirmed that God was well known for his goodness, compassion and grace. He may have lived an imperfect life before the Lord, but he never doubted God’s steadfast love and compassion. He knew that the Lord’s heart is tender to the desperate cry of a contrite heart.

Regardless of your current state or circumstances, pray to God and expect that He will respond in a way that is beneficial and good for you. His timing and will may not align with your expectations, but trust the heart of our good Lord.��

Living with wisdom drawn from God’s living Word results in a completely satisfying, fruitful life. Scripture tells us: “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” (Psalms 1:1-3 NLT)

Lord, you revealed to us clearly your design for a truly blessed life on earth. Help me faithfully reflect and meditate on your Holy Scripture. I desire wisdom that leads me to life, according to your loving design. I pray with thanksgiving for your faithful, everlasting love that shall preserve me until you return. Help me make wise choices that aligns with your good desires. Grant me grace and faith always so I remain in your love. In Christ. Amen

“From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,…” Psalm 61:2 ESV

Lord, there are a lot of broken things and broken people among us. In your mercy, compassion and grace, we covet your healing and renewal upon our people. Forgive our greed, crooked and evil ways. They pull us down, bring harm and suffering to ourselves; preventing us for living out your good purposes for our nation. Help us see You in our current circumstances. Deliver us by your perfect, powerful love. Restore and renew us, as a nation. Lead us to your path of salvation and life, so we may bring honor and praise to your glorious Name. Through Christ, we humbly pray. Amen.�
