In the presence of all the heavenly court, this day, we choose you, O MARY, OUR MOTHER AND QUEEN!

We offer and consecrate to you, in full submission and love, our body and soul, our goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all our good actions, past, present, and future; leaving entirely to you the full right of the disposing of us, and all that belongs to us, without exception, according to your will for the greater glory of God in time and eternity. Amen.

You are the encourager of the disheartened, strength of the weak. Those who celebrate your memory experience all of your generous help. Be attentive to the voice of those who pray. Satisfy the desires of all. It is your role to intercede constantly for the people of God, you who merited, or were blessed to carry out redemption of the world through Him who reigns forever and ever!

The Abang Lingkod ni Maria rejoices with the entire people of God in Pasig, Pateros, and Taguig, as we celebrate today the 15th Anniversary of His Excellency, THE MOST REVEREND MYLO HUBERT C. VERGARA, D.D., as Second Bishop of Pasig.

From the Diocese of San Jose, he was summoned by His Late Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, to succeed the late Most. Rev. Francisco C. San Diego D.D., who had already reached the mandatory retirement age of 75. Bishop Vergara took Canonical Possession of the Cathedral and the Diocese on this day in 2011.

Our gratitude to you, the common debt contracted through the serpent for generations have been removed. You have generated the treasure that has filled the world with every help. From you has come the kindly light that destroyed the kingdom of darkness!

MARY, QUEEN OF PEACE, PRAY FOR US!

Heavenly Father, we, Your children, humbly call on You to bring peace to our world. Nations lift their arms to battle, but we humbly kneel to ask Your protection and peace. In this time of difficulty, You are our surest hope. Many children dream of a bright future, yet we have failed to teach and guide them rightly. You entrusted us with this world to care for, but we have harmed it through war and hatred. You showed us how to love, yet we make enemies of other nations. By the sacrifice of Your Son on the cross You brought reconciliation with You. Hear our prayer for peace, especially in the Middle East. Our sacrifices may be small, but with faith in Your all things are possible. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

On this day in 2009, the Abang Lingkod ni Maria was established at the behest of the Most Reverend Francisco C. San Diego D.D., First Bishop of Pasig, with the oath taken by its members before Rev. Fr. Roy M. Rosales STL (then Rector and Parish Priest of the Cathedral and former Diocesan Chancellor) to perpetually oversee the general orderliness and safekeeping of the canonically crowned image of our beloved mother and patroness, La Inmaculada Concepcion de Pasig.

The “Camareras Mayores, Menores, y Infantiles” with Fr. Rosales as their Spiritual Director, established the norms of devotional propagation in honor of the Patrona Coronada, from which sprang forth, along with charitable activities, customs such as the monthly “Pahalik,” the “Dalaw-Patrona,” and the annual “Solemneng Pagbibihis.”

Today, ALM renews its vow, all for the greater glory of God, through the Blessed Virgin Mary.
