RECAP FOR THE MAY 26 MESSAGE: The Hebrew word for peace, šālôm (Shalom), translated in the Septuagint most often by the Greek word, eirēnē (Irene), has a wide semantic range including the notions of totality or completeness, success, fulfillment, wholeness, harmony, security and well being.

Read Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Honoring our mothers is important not only to them, but also to us and to God.

Our moms hold a most special place in our hearts. Regardless of their education, talents or accomplishments, they’re special because they carried us in their wombs, and then gave us life. They fed us, bathed us, and nurtured us when we were helpless and needy. We are from them and literally part of them.

The position of mother is sacred. Mothers themselves can honor God on this special day by striving to become more like the woman described in Proverbs 31: virtuous, excellent, trustworthy, responsible, disciplined, a capable administrator, confident, compassionate and a planner. The result? Your children will arise and call you blessed, and your husband will praise you. I pray that all of us as fathers, mothers and children will not only thank God for His design for our families, but also earnestly ask, “Lord, how are we doing?”

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS. 💙

RECAP FOR THE MAY 5 MESSAGE: Bethany [Greek: Βηθανία (Bethania)] of Aramaic or Hebrew origin, meaning "house of affliction".

Bethany was where Lazarus, a friend of Jesus, fell ill and died.
This is also the place where Jesus was annointed in preparation for His death on the cross.

There was much sorrow, pain and tears in Bethany. But Jesus had changed the meaning of Bethany. First when He raised Lazarus (meaning: Latinized form of Λαζαρος (Lazaros), a Greek form of ELEAZAR meaning "MY GOD HAS HELPED") from the dead. And second, when Jesus himself later was raised from the dead to save all of us.

In the same way, the world we live in is like Bethany, we experience sadness and pain but when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and savior we become like Lazarus, for God helps us. He helps us through all the trials we go through and He is always there.

Our situations may not change, we are not promised an easy life. Just as Lazarus still went through death and his sisters Mary and Martha still experienced sorrow because of his death; but God promises to be there and raise us up from our trials, just as He called Lazarus to come out of his death tomb.

You just need to trust, obey Him and wait upon the Lord!
