8th Dalaw Parokya of the Vicariate Youth Council of Immaculate Conception

The 8th Dalaw Parokya of the Vicariate Youth Council of Immaculate Conception was successfully hosted by San Guillermo Parish, bringing together around 180 young people from the nine parishes of the Vicariate in a day of prayer, formation, fellowship, and joyful celebration of faith.
The gathering began with an opening prayer led by Bro. Jaizen Cuba, entrusting the day’s activities to the Lord. This was followed by an inspiring message from Bro. Nikee Dominique Pagatpat, Vicariate Youth Coordinator, who encouraged the participants to continue responding generously to God’s call and to remain active witnesses of Christ in their respective parishes. To energize the assembly, the Youth Animators of San Guillermo Parish together with the Mananayaw ng Buting presented the lively Iwasiwas Dance, setting a joyful and welcoming atmosphere.
The highlight of the program was the plenary talk delivered by Sis. JN Catando, Youth Coordinator of San Guillermo Parish, entitled “DISPRAS: Sino Ka Ba?” The talk invited the youth to reflect on the “masks” people often wear, especially in the age of social media, where filters, curated posts, and online personas can sometimes hide one’s authentic self.
The session also contrasted how algorithms seek to capture attention while God desires to reveal each person’s purpose and vocation.
The life of Blessed Carlo Acutis was presented as a model of holiness in the digital age, inspiring the participants to use technology as a means of evangelization rather than self-promotion. The talk concluded with a powerful reminder that our identity is not determined by followers, appearance, achievements, or popularity, but by the truth that each of us is a beloved child of God.
Following the plenary session, participants were divided into five teams—Team Sibat, Team Bibliya, Team Ermitanyo, Team Kalasag, and Team Red Flags—and rotated through various activity booths that fostered teamwork, camaraderie, creativity, and faith-filled interaction. The games not only provided fun and excitement but also strengthened friendships among the youth from the different parishes.
The event concluded with a heartfelt message from the Parish Priest of San Guillermo Parish, Fr. Edmond Reynaldo, who encouraged everyone to continue living out the lessons they had received throughout the day and to become authentic disciples of Christ in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Certificates of participation were then awarded to the participating parishes in recognition of their active involvement and support.
