San Antonio Abad Parish- Maybunga, Pasig City In January 1572, the Augustinians led by Fr. Alonzo de Alvarado sailed down the Pasig River with the encomendero Juan de la Isla. Fr. Loreto Sanchez, Jr.

They reached Maybunga on January 17, the feast of San Antonio Abad, placing him as its titular. Maybunga was then an independent community with its own group of lakans and maginoos. It is likely that this community was the settlement established by Dayang Kalangitan and G*t Lontok, centuries before the Spanish arrived. โ€“ Three days later, the Spaniards moved on from Maybunga to the center of ancie

On this blessed Motherโ€™s Day, we honor and give thanks for all mothers whose love reflects the tenderness, sacrifice, and quiet strength of our Blessed Mother.

In a special way, we look to our dear patroness, Virgen de los Remedios โ€” the compassionate Mother who brings comfort to the weary, hope to the suffering, and guidance to every family seeking refuge in Godโ€™s mercy. Just as the Blessed Virgin lovingly accompanied Jesus in every moment of His life, may all mothers continue to become instruments of faith, healing, and unconditional love within their homes and communities.

Today, we pray for every mother โ€” those still with us, those awaiting the gift of motherhood, and those who have gone before us into eternal rest. May our Heavenly Mother wrap them in her mantle of protection and intercede for them always.
