A LOOK FROM THE BOOK

Take care of what the Lord had entrusted upon us, and liberty is one of those.

We have liberty and we are accountable on how we use it.

This passage tells us that having the freedom to choose whatever we want to do, whether right or wrong, must not be a hindrance on others especially to those who are still weak in their faith. Liberty must be used wisely by not causing others stumble when they look unto us. We should lead them to Jesus by living a life that magnifies Christ.

Reflection:

As sons and daughters of Christ, how will I live my life in liberty without being stumbling block to others that can hinder their growth in faith?

How am I going to point my brethren to Christ?

What are other things that we thought might commend us to the Lord?

A LOOK FROM THE BOOK

Submission comes before Authority!

In the book of Daniel, we get to see how King Nebuchadnezzar praised and honored God. His authority and power make him weak when the Lord intervenes and rescues His people from the fire.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego give us an example of how we should submit to authority and how to defend our faith with respect. Our faith should not be compromised while obeying the authority that governs us.

Their statement: "But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods" echoes their faith; they know who God truly is and have more power than the gods set up by humans.

Our faith comes out in times we are oppressed.

Reminder:
Submission does not mean condoning wrongdoing simply because the authority said so.

This brief yet powerful verse teaches us that love should be the ultimate driving force and foundation for all our actions, words, and decisions. It is easy to act with love when things are going well, but Paul’s command extends to hard situations. When you face challenges or have to correct someone, acting in love means responding with patience, kindness, and compassion, rather than reacting out of anger or frustration.

Brothers and sisters, β€œlove of money” is a form of false worship. Though we often struggle to see the issue through this shocking lens, the most dangerous thing about this β€œlove of money” is that it offers us a rival god. Our God will provide, and we don't have to cling to money if we know that He will hold us fast.

Beloved, grace doesn’t make light of sin; it is the power to break free from sin! And this is the present truth of grace in which God wants us to be established β€”that concerning the confession of sins, we confess our sins because we are already forgiven, not to obtain God’s forgiveness.
