Correction is a must, but kindness too!

Corrections should be rooted in love. We always throw stones (judgements) at our brethren, but God Himself didn'tโ€”who has the right to throw a stone; to give judgement.

If God Himself forgave, who are we to refuse to extend it to others? If our intentions are pure, the correction is seasoned with love that lightens someone's mind.

Matthew 5:13-16, we are called as salt and light, and not to condemn. We must point people to Jesus, not to lead them further away from Him.

Let's be reminded that we are all sinners and yet God loved us even we don't ask for His forgiveness. This is the challenge for us โ€” to reflect His grace to others.

Reflection Question:
As a Christian who have been forgiven because of the grace of God, how you will extend the love and grace to your brother like Jesus did when we are still sinners?

We are all two-faced servants!

We claim that we love God, yet we are still loving the world and condemning the sin that our brethren commit.

This verse warns us to have a self-check before helping our brother. We are often blinded to our own sin; we unknowingly compromise our spiritual view.

Let us test and examine our ways, so that we can be effective helpers.

Let us examine our hearts and seek Godโ€™s help to turn away from worldly desires and hidden sins that may weaken our relationship with Him and hinder us from removing the log from our own eyes.

The world may seem "mature and all knowing." But it blinds us to what the Bible tells us.

For us, Christians, our duty is not to please the world and to understand it. In Philippians 1:21, Paul wrote: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Another sentence that the world may not understand. The world tells us that to die is the forfeit of life, but the truth is it's a gain for us to be out of this world so that we can be with our Father in heaven, He who promised that we will live with Him eternally. (John 11:25)

It's better to be misunderstood by the world and to be known by God, rather than being wise and right in the sight of man and be denied by our creator.

As a believer who is set apart from the world, what matters to you? Are you more concerned with being accepted and understood by the world, or with living faithfully according to Godโ€™s truth even when others may not understand it?

Our goal is to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matt. 25:21).

Hebrews 3:13 tells us to encourage one another so we can be sharpened in faith and not be callous or blinded to our sins. At the same time, we are accountable for our own actions, whether it is right or inappropriate for a believer's attitude. Paul wrote this to remind us not to compare ourselves to others, but to practice personal responsibility by evaluating our own hearts before God.

How can I encourage others in faith while also taking personal responsibility to examine my heart and live faithfully before God?

A LOOK FROM THE BOOK

Sometimes we feel like you always have to keep going, fixing everything, or figuring things out on your own. But this verse reminds you that strength doesnโ€™t always come from doing more; it can come from slowing down. God invites you to return to Him, to rest, and to trust rather than stress. Being quiet and still doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re weak; it means youโ€™re choosing peace over pressure. When life feels overwhelming, maybe what you really need is not more effort, but more trust in God.

A LOOK FROM THE BOOK

Sometimes, without realizing it, we start depending on things that canโ€™t truly satisfy us, such as, attention, approval, success, or even certain people. You expect them to give you peace or worth, but they donโ€™t last. This verse reminds you that when you rely too much on these things, you can lose sight of the real, steady love that God offers. His love doesnโ€™t change or disappear. When you turn back to Him, youโ€™re choosing something real and lasting instead of something temporary.

A LOOK FROM THE BOOK

Devotion: There are moments when you fall, make mistakes, or feel like youโ€™ve failed. It can be embarrassing or discouraging, and you might feel like staying down. But this verse reminds you that falling is not the end. You can rise again. Even in your darkest moments, God is still there, bringing light and hope. Your mistakes donโ€™t define youโ€”what matters is that you keep getting back up. With God, your story doesnโ€™t end in failure.
