ON DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING DISCORDāS BAN
While the administration of ROBLOX Filipino Catholics welcomes the lifting of the ban, we firmly believe that it should not have been in the first place. Now most especially when the CICCās own director has admitted to not having considered other implications of the ban. Macalma, 2026 in a Radio Interview said
āYun mga bagong sinasabi ng ibang mga naapektuhan ng Discord, ginagamit pala nila sa business, ginagamit pala nila sa pag-aaral, hindi pa naka-klaro sa amin yan ng Discord. We do apologize sa mga affected. Inalala namin din yun mga nawala sa kanila, but our priority right now is the safety of each individual.ā
Clearly, the agencyās want to be praised or to appear busy and doing their work seemed to trump all sense of logic. Their admission to having no idea what they are doing is a clear waste of taxpayer money.
Our legal team has found precedent and existing decisions in the supreme court, the mandate of the CICC and DICT according to law, and relevant laws that would prove that the agency jumped the gun. We will challenge through legal means any further actions that would violate the constitution and existing laws.
We reiterate this is not a magnanimous moment for the agency. They failed in the first instance. Aboy Paraisoās team are failures. When an agency who is supposed to be an expert in the field as being guardians, fails to actually know what an entire platform is for, then they are complete and utter failures.
We call on the entire Marcos Administration to act, but act in a scientific manner. Not basing things upon the qualms of another incompetent official. But studying, being surgical, and being logical in all its decisions.
True to being a real Marcos administration it has found loopholes on its agenda of state censorship.
We renew our call to the government to study and focus on issues that actually need focusing on. Maybe shut down CICC in its entirety and push the budget towards safer schools, better policing, and actual experts in the field who know what they are talking about.
Roblox Filipino Catholics will also continue with its online rally of indignation for the reactionary stance of this current administration to school safety and free speech.
