Where do our happiness, purpose, and achievements come from? If you need encouragement in your walk with Jesus, this is Jharred's powerful testimony from Youth Uprising.
"On the outside, people saw me as someone living an almost perfect life: I was in a loving and supportive environment, financially stable daw, and consistently excelling in school. People admired me, thinking I had it all together. But beneath the surface, I was just a kid trying to find his purpose. I began to ask myself, โMasaya baโko? Nafufulfill ko ba yung misyon ko sa buhay? O baka ginagawa ko lang โto dahil kailangan ko?โ
I was known as the โsmart kid,โ the one everyone looked up to, but deep inside, I felt emptyโlike something was missing. I started questioning what happiness really was. Was it found in recognition and worldly success? Or was there something more profound I was overlooking? Despite all my achievements, I often felt like I was just going through the motions. My life, though seemingly ideal, lacked a deeper sense of purpose.
It wasnโt until I began searching for answers that things started to change. I realized I was yearning for something more than just academic success. This search led me to Jesus, and everything shifted. At first, I wasnโt that interestedโit was like a switch flipping on and off. But after witnessing His greatness, I started to dive deeper into my relationship with Him. Thatโs when I realized my life had meaning beyond my accomplishments.
It was during this season of questioning that I encountered Jesus. Through Him, I discovered a love that was unconditional, a purpose that went far beyond my achievements, and a community that accepted me for who I truly was.
The void that once filled my heart has now been replaced with peace, fulfillment, and a renewed sense of purpose. Truly, the best life is a life with Jesus.
Looking ahead, for the next 10 yearsโwith a much deeper faithโ this church will bring out more of the youthโs inspiring stories. And, I want to be a part of making this happen: Going to God means growing in God. I believe there is so much more to expect from this generation and the next, and Iโm excited to be part of that journey. Puhon. (God-willing.)"
