An altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy during a Christian liturgy. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell, helps bring up the gifts, brings up the book, among other things.

𝐌𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 | 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Last May 24, 2026, on Pentecost Sunday, the Ministry of Altar Servers of Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish held its General Assembly for the month of May. The agenda focused on the evaluation of Sunduan Festival 2026, as well as the discussion of upcoming plans and activities for the months of May and June, making this assembly a combined General Assembly for both months. Important matters concerning the ministry were also discussed during the meeting.

During the assembly, we also formally witnessed the turnover of responsibilities and the oath-taking of Bro. Marcus Ermita as the new Assistant Coordinator of the ministry.

The Batch of St. John Berchmans continued their new journey last May 17, 2026. During the 6pm mass they once again took part in serving, together with their Kuyas who guided them throughout the mass.

May this new chapter in their ministry strengthen their faith, deepen their love for service, and inspire them to continue responding to God’s call with humility and dedication. As they serve at the altar, may they always carry in their hearts the joy of serving Christ and His people with reverence, commitment, and love.

After months of formation, training, discipline, and prayer, the Batch of St. John Berchmans – 2026 successfully conducted their first serve last May 16, 2026. This meaningful milestone marks the beginning of their deeper commitment and dedication in serving God through the ministry of the altar.

Guided by their Batch Trainers, Bro. Cody La Putt and Bro. Calvin Santos, the batch was formed not only in knowledge and proper service, but also in living out the ideals of an altar server. Through every practice, correction, and encouragement, they were prepared to take a new step in their journey as altar servers, faithfully serving the Lord and His people at the Most Holy Altar together with their brothers in mission.

May this first serve inspire them and more to continue answering God’s call with courage, reverence, and joy. As they begin this new chapter in their ministry, may they always remember that serving at the altar is not only a privilege, but also a sacred responsibility and a beautiful act of love for Christ and His Church.

We also extend our gratitude to their trainers, parents, fellow servers, and everyone who continuously supports and prays for our ministry. Your guidance and encouragement help shape these young servers into faithful and devoted disciples.

𝐌𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘 | 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ✨

Last May 16, 2026, the Ministry of Altar Servers – Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish gathered once again for their monthly Sports Day activity, a time not only for games and friendly competition, but also for strengthening the bond of brotherhood among our servers.

Through every cheer, game, and shared moment, we were reminded that beyond serving at the altar, we are also called to grow together as one community rooted in faith, friendship, and unity✨

Our heartfelt gratitude to the administrators and personnel of Sta. Rosa Catholic School for warmly allowing us to use the school facilities for this meaningful event.
