ABOUNDING COMFORT

2 Corinthians 1:5 (NIV) For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Only in sharing in the suffering of Christ (experiencing hardships in obeying His words and following Him), we can experience the comfort of God through Christ. Christians who refuse this condition will not taste Christ’s comfort while on earth. God may allow many sufferings, but He promises abundant comfort through Christ. It is a comfort that radiates joy, peace, and security in the midst of any testing.

As Christians, we should not suffer as murderers, thieves, evildoers, or as busybodies in other people’s matters (1 Peter 4:15), but in sharing the sufferings of Christ. Be motivated to obey and follow Christ for God promises abounding comfort through His Son Jesus our Lord.

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.

Jesus warned us to watch out and be on our guard against all kinds of greed because a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions (Luke 12:15).
What you are trying to build in this world might be of no value in the sight of God and in the end, could be your greatest regret in life.

Christ's believers are called to live godly lives. There's no better way to explain true Christian godliness than to manifest it daily the way it should be.
