Compassion in Crisis: Learning to Listen
This morning, the FSP Vocation and Youth Ministry Team had the privilege of participating in the talk “Compassion in Crisis: Recognizing and Supporting Students in Distress” by Dr. Celso Mangaoil, Dean of the Guidance and Counseling Office of Adamson University.
The session reminded us that in accompanying young people, we don’t always need to have the perfect words or immediate solutions. Sometimes, the most healing thing we can do for someone is simply to listen—with presence, patience, and compassion.
As we continue our vocation and youth ministry, may we become more attentive to the silent struggles of young people and create spaces where they feel heard, understood, valued, and cared for.
