Today is our last full day in Dumaguete! We will be spending our day packing our bags, getting ready to leave, and taking care of some final details before we head out tomorrow. Tomorrow we head to the airport as soon as church is over, or maybe a little before. We will be traveling back to Manila and staying there overnight and then flying back to the states first thing Monday morning.

It seems unreal that it has already been almost 6 weeks. This trip has been such a whirlwind. We can’t wait to get back and share with you all the exciting things we have gotten to be a part of!

Night #2 of our Revival service went.... well I’ll just say this. From the time I gave the Alter call, it was almost an hr before the service ended. I don’t think I have ever experienced the move of the Lord like that during any service. I am lost for words. From the worship team leading the music until the end, the Lord moved! I got up, preached what God gave me and let Him do the rest. Wow! I am literally exhausted from the service. I feel like I have ran 10 miles. Revival was sent to the Filipino people of Dumaguete tonight. I pray the Lord continues to give us everything we need as we come to a close on this Mission Trip. And as we prepare ourselves to get back into the American culture of life.

This morning we were up before 5AM to head to Tayawan National High School to minister to 89 high school students. It was a 3 hour drive each direction on very bumpy roads for part of the way. This morning it was cold because the sun was barely up. This afternoon we got sunburns. Our backsides are sore and we are EXHAUSTED, but God provides us so many opportunities for ministry and for that we are humbled and thankful. Huge thank you to Mark Orot and April Orot for setting this up for us! You guys are awesome. Now it’s 5:20 PM and we are ready for some sleep... or some coffee... or both. 😏

Here’s Ashley singing a Gospel song to the Inmates in their Language! I believe by her singing to them in their dialect it creates an opportunity for us to reach them in a special way by showing them we are investing In their culture and that we have a burden to reach them! They loved it!!!

Prison Ministry Post 1 of 2:
We were able to preach the Gospel to severally inmates in a local Philippine prison. As you see things are different here. They have little to no room left in the holding areas. This portion of men here are the ones that wanted to join us in the service. We had about 10-15 men make either profession of faiths or rededication to the Lord. One of the young men who excepted Christ as his Savior was in for murder. It was definitely eye opening for us to experience people from all backgrounds excepting the Gospel. The prisoners will be followed up weekly by a local pastor in the area for discipleship. It’s amazing how many people on this world are willing to except Him bet never have heard the truth of Salvation. Praise the Lord for this opportunity!

Jesus himself left us instructions we know as the great commission. Going into all nations doesn’t mean you have to become a missionary. This scripture means that it is our job as followers of Christ to make sure the entire world knows about Jesus Christ and what He has done for us.

“Go ye therefore” doesn’t just mean 8,400 miles from home. It means your neighborhood, your work place, your community, your state, your nation! It means to each and every person you meet!

So many churches today forget what is important. They forget what the true calling and commission of the Lord is. We are supposed to be building disciples. Why have we as Christians stopped caring about the man on the street corner who needs Jesus? Why have we stopped caring that people of Muslim faith who believe in the wrong god are going to Hell? Why have we stopped caring that the person in our workplace that drives us crazy everyday needs Jesus? When did we become complacent?

Mark 2:17 says “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Church is not just about fellowship with people of like faith and being satisfied. It’s about reducing the number of lost people in the world. When we have lost our concern for the lost, we have lost our vision. Losing our vision means we are failing as Christians.

Never lose your vision. Invite someone to church, tell that coworker about all God has done for you. DON’T lose sight of our purpose in life. Someone you know is dying and going to Hell. You have the key of knowledge of salvation. Hand it to them!

We are sorry for our lack of updates. The WiFi at the house we are staying at rarely works so we are currently relying on coffee shop WiFi to post information!
Yesterday we got to preach at a Baptist Church... where they still sing out of hymnals! How cool is that?! Here in the Philippines, 8,400 miles from home, and we are able to have church the same way we do at home!

Last night we got to have dinner with our dear friend, Missionary Sam Freeman! Our simple dinner turned into over 3 hours of fellowship and mission field discussions. We are so blessed to have someone so wise with advanced experience to lean on here in the Philippines. He is currently here in Dumaguete doing a conference, so today we were able to attend half the day where the topic is “church planting”.

We will be back at the conference tomorrow as well, but could only be there for half of it today as we are on our way to prison ministry. Getting stranded in Cebu (we will post those details on a later post), set us back a few days in our schedule. This means the next few weeks are JAM PACKED with things to do all day every day. The mission field is an overwhelming, exciting, God-filled place and we are so blessed to be a part of it.

We are so thankful for The friendship we have found in the Freeman Family!

Well the last few days has been interesting! We were able to be a part of sharing Jesus with a man sick with terminal Cancer who excepted the Lord as His Saviour In Cebu. Praise the Lord! While there the water pump & timing belt broke! So we We had it replaced, but the temperature went up again while in Carcar. Water was leaking everywhere. Had to bring gallons of water to fill up the radiator to maintain the temperature. I know it was just Satan throwing us a curveball! By the looks of it it’s just a leaking hose. I just Thank God we’ve made it back to Dumagute!

We continue to have many people asking about the History of Religion here in the Philippines and have many other Religious questions. There are many Religions here. The majority is Roman Catholic, but they also have Muslims, Mormons, many ‘cults’ and also Born Again Evangelical Christians. The most popular here is the Roman Catholic. They got the influence by Spain as they ruled here for over 400 years. Generation after generation is being taught the traditions by their ancestors but cannot tell you why the believe the way they do. Here the Catholicism isn’t standard. The Catholicism practiced in this area is very idolistic. You will see people literally praying and worshiping idols here in the Roman Catholic Church. They pray to Mary and Saints by touching statues. They leave offerings hanging on the statues, as well as praying over the dead by honoring them with burning candles. They worship the creation vs. the creator. Most Churches like these here do not read out of Bibles they strictly depend on the Priest. Our goal is to MAKE SURE these people hear the truth that JESUS CHRIST is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. He is the ONLY way to Heaven. Please Note: I am NOT posting this to offend anyone. I’m simply posting this so those who are following us are aware and can have the opportunity to get a glimpse of the need.
