You may feel like you have already asked God the same question too many times. That is not proof of failure, it can be proof that your heart still wants Him. In John 21:17, Jesus meets Peter with mercy, even after Peter’s heavy grief and failures.
Peter responds simply, and that matters. “Lord, you know” is not a clever defense. It is surrender to the One who searches hearts and speaks truth with gentleness. Jesus does not ignore Peter’s pain, and He does not treat one confession as enough to replace obedience.
Then Jesus gives a clear next step, “Feed my sheep.” Loyalty to Christ is not only about strong feelings or more Bible facts. It becomes visible when love turns into faithful care. If your prayer life feels inconsistent or your Bible reading leaves you with questions, begin at the feet of Jesus again. Tell Him what you feel, then ask Him to help you obey what you already understand.
Healing often comes through repeated obedience, not a single breakthrough moment. Today, choose one small act of feeding: pray for someone in your church family by name, encourage a believer who seems weary, or serve quietly where help is needed. Jesus’ love holds you steady as you walk forward.
If you have been feeling distant from God, do not wait until distance disappears. Return now, with an honest heart.
What is one concrete way you can feed Christ’s people this week?
