For more than 40 years, BCCO has been a home for faith and fellowship – welcoming all to sing and serve. On January 27, 1985, BCCO – originally known as "Kapatirang Kristiyano sa Don Galo" – was founded under the leadership of Mrs. With her guidance, members from various backgrounds gathered weekly for Bible study and sharing, fostering a strong foundation of faith and community. Driven by her pas
sion for service, Mrs. Lara later established a youth group to encourage young people’s involvement in the Church. This group, known as "BCC Youth of Don Galo," aimed to deepen their appreciation for God’s Word and commitment to parish service. Under the leadership of its first head, Mrs. Editha Cornelio-Ferrer, the organization thrived, incorporating community outreach programs such as Christmas gift-giving and aid for underprivileged families – all while sustaining its core spiritual activities. A pivotal moment for the group came when they were given the opportunity to lead the singing of liturgical songs at the Cathedral Parish of St. This new responsibility required dedication and preparation, leading to the formation of the "Basic Christian Community Youth Choir (BCCYC)," under the direction of its first choir master, Mr. Gabriel “Jhun” Mendoza Jr. With hearts full of devotion, the choir led worship during Sunday morning Masses and Tuesday novena Masses in honor of Our Lady of Buensuceso, the Patroness of Parañaque. The Basic Christian Community Organization (BCCO) stands as a testament to faith, unity, and service, growing from a small choir into a thriving ministry that continues to inspire through 40 years of music and outreach. BCCO remains deeply rooted at present in its mission, leading worship in the church, performing at various occasions, and extending its ministry beyond the Holy Eucharist through fellowship and charitable works. Honoring its past while embracing the future, BCCO welcomes members from all backgrounds, offering not just a place to sing, but a home where faith is strengthened, lives are touched, and service is a way of life. This is who we are. This is our mission.
