The Church celebrates the Memorial of the ๐—ค๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† on August 22. Mary is honored as Queen because she is the Mother of Christ the King and because of her unique association with her Sonโ€™s redemptive mission.

Maryโ€™s queenship is not about earthly power or glory. It is a queenship of love, humility, and service, a motherly presence that continues to guide the Church and lead us closer to her Son.

As members of Christโ€™s royal priesthood, we are reminded of the promise:
"If we persevere, we shall also reign with Him." (2 Timothy 2:12)

Tomorrow, August 22, the Church celebrates the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, rejoicing in Mary who, after being assumed body and soul into heaven, is honored as Queen because of her unique participation in the life and mission of her Son, Jesus Christ.

Mary's queenship is not about worldly power or privilege. Her life reveals a different kind of greatness, one rooted in humility, obedience, faith, and loving service. She freely welcomed God's will and remained faithful to Christ, even at the foot of the Cross.

As Queen and Mother, Mary continues to point us toward Jesus. Her greatness always leads us to her Son, the true King.

Every person is created in the image and likeness of God and possesses inherent dignity. Because of this dignity, the Church upholds the fundamental rights of every human person. At the same time, these rights are inseparable from our responsibilities toward others and the common good.

As Christians, we are called not only to claim our own rights but also to respect the dignity, freedom, and well-being of our neighbors. A just society is built when rights are exercised with responsibility, charity, and concern for one another.

The Church does not discern by relying solely on plans, opinions, or majority decisions. True discernment begins with prayer and openness to the Holy Spirit, who leads the People of God toward truth and unity.

A synodal Church listens attentivelyโ€”to God, to one another, and to the signs of the times. When we discern together with humility and faith, we become more attentive to God's will than to our own preferences.
