“The world or the Kingdom of GOD?”
Q?: which would you choose? The richness of this world but will never ever last a lifetime or in the Kingdom of God?!, Jesus or satan?
MAIN VERSE: Psalm 49:1-20
Marcos 8:36-37 MBBTAG12 / Mark 8:36-37 NIV
“Sapagkat ano ba ang mapapala ng isang tao makamtan man niya ang buong daigdig, ngunit mapapahamak naman ang kanyang sarili? Ano ba ang maibabayad ng isang tao para mabawi niya ang kanyang buhay?”
The wages of our sin is death but in Christ Jesus we are already redeemed. Fix our eyes only unto Jesus the author, perfect-or & finisher of our FAITH. Do not desire the things of this world that easily perish & will never ever last forever but in the Kingdom of God & his word will last eternally. Invest in the Kingdom of God & everything that we invested in the Kingdom of God will never ever perish. The best investment we will have is in GOD alone not your business or anyone else but it is not bad to have a business here on this world for the purpose of the expansion of the Kingdom of GOD that is a good investment & right intention. GOD is our best friend & best business partner. He is our Jehovah Jireh our GOD who provides or needs. He is our CEO he owns everything & we are his children. We will not lack of anything always ask & acknowledge the Lord in every ways, in everything that we are concerning with. He just want to hear it from us even the Lord knows it already he still wants to hear it from our mouth acknowledging him all the time. He wants a relationship not a rational relationship. We will just call him if we need him NO! We should always pray, pray without ceasing even if we don’t need anything from HIM. Give all thanks to GOD good or bad GOD is not a GENIE, He is our ABBA FATHER in Heaven who listens us, he wants us. Just be true before the Lord he is always there for us he will never leave nor forsake us!
Bad investment: selfishness, desiring the things of this world loving MAMMON vs LOVING & Prioritizing GOD above all else. Fleshly desires, phone 1st before GOD, idolizing someone (a person over GOD & etc.) online gaming, mobile legends, grand theft, KPOP, SHORT REELS DRAMA.
* Galatians 5:19-21 NIV “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, or**es, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
* God is a JEALOUS GOD if we prioritize above anything else before GOD that is idolatry. Biblically, idolatry is the worship, devotion, or ultimate trust given to anyone or anything other than God. It is not limited to bowing before physical statues; it also includes allowing anything to take God’s rightful place in your heart.
What is idolatry?
* The Hebrew word often translated as “idol” is pesel, meaning “a carved image.” However, Scripture shows that idolatry goes much deeper than images. It is about giving supreme love, loyalty, fear, hope, or dependence to something other than God.
Modern forms of idolatry
A person may be committing idolatry when they place anything above God, such as:
* Money or wealth
* Success or career
* Relationships
* Power or status
* Entertainment
* Self (making oneself the highest authority)
* Spiritual experiences if they become more important than knowing and obeying God
These things are not necessarily sinful in themselves, but they become idols when they replace God as our highest love and trust.
How can you recognize an idol?
You might ask yourself:
* What do I trust most when I’m afraid?
* What occupies my thoughts more than God?
* What would be hardest for me to surrender if God asked?
* What determines my identity or sense of worth?
Whatever consistently rules your heart more than God can become an idol.
God’s desire
God calls His people to worship Him alone because He alone is the Creator and Savior. True worship means loving, trusting, and obeying Him above everything else.
As Jesus taught in Matthew 22:37:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
In summary, idolatry is anything that takes God’s rightful place in your heart, whether it is a physical image, a person, a possession, an ambition, or even your own desires. The biblical call is not merely to avoid idols but to worship God wholeheartedly.
