With the theme “In the beginning, there was love,” the San Antonio de Padua Parish (SAPP) youth spent time in prayer, silence, and special reflections for January’s Holy Hour session.

Our parish priest, Fr. Kevin Luther C. Crisostomo, followed this with a formation talk that centered on the prayer theme of generosity. He reminded the youth to always have generous hearts through prayer and trust. From this, he encouraged everyone to turn to St. Ignatius of Loyola’s Prayer of Generosity as a constant guide to be selfless and to be of loving service to God and others.

Prayer to Generosity by St. Ignatius of Loyola
"Dearest Lord,
teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve You as You deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do Your most holy will.
Amen.”

A script-reading session led by Abegail Jade Paraiso, COY’s Asst. Coordinator, was also held among the youth actors and actresses the next day, February 8. This was followed by a short orientation by Justin Riego de Dios, one of COY’s advisers, on the Stations of the Cross, its relevance during Lent, and its spiritual focus on devotion and purpose.

The San Antonio de Padua Parish - Commission on Youth Core and the whole commission would like to once again extend their heartfelt gratitude to all our generous sponsors for their kindness and charitable support for our Christmas Gift-Giving Project, Emmanuel’s Shoebox: Sharing the Love and Joy of Christ’s Birth in a Box.

Thank you for being a blessing to our beneficiaries and to our community. Through this, we were able to bring and share joy, hope and love, most especially to these children who serve in our parish.

We also appreciate and thank our volunteers and youth for their dedication and time to help for this project and in our parish.

Our special thanks and acknowledgment also go to our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Kevin Luther C. Crisostomo, for his guidance and unwavering support, which made this activity a success.

Lastly, all of these beautifully remind us of Christ’s love, one that is always present through acts of care, goodness, and service.
