FROM DEATH TO LIFE
Reference: 2 Kings 22:1-20
The reform movement in Israel began as a routine job in the Temple, where the high priest stumbled upon something that had been concealed for a long time:
"The Book of God's Revelation"
Deuteronomy was the book that was discovered.
And at the time this was read,
the moral and spiritual climate in Israel was a mess.
One of the reasons THEN is the same reason things
are such a mess NOW.
It's the concealment of the Word of God
from evil that makes things as bad as they are.
The reform of Josiah's time was rooted
in the rediscovery of Scripture.
When it was dusted off and read,
that's when reform started.
Reform didn't start with fiery invectives
or moral imperatives hurled at the people,
whether by a political figure
or by a prophetic figure..
IT STARTED WITH REVELATION.
The Word of God, as ancient as it was, had words that could bring resurrection to the most lifeless of circumstances.
When you conceal the Word of God from evil,
things remain the way they are.
BUT if you bring them together,
they become connected to each other the way resurrection is connected with death.
The nature of this world, from the viewpoint of the gospel, isn't so much a battle of good against evil as a movement from death toward resurrection.
If some area of your life is dead---
your spiritual life, a friendship,
your marriage, your passion...

Read the Word and reacquaint yourself
with this ancient text.
THEN WAIT AND WATCH..
AND SEE WHAT COMES TO LIFE.
