APOSTOLIC BLESSING | Pope Leo XIV on the 100th Anniversary of the Transitus of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia

· · ·
SECRETARIAT OF STATE

N. 47409

Rev. Fr. Bruno Rampazzo, RCJ
Superior General, Congregation of the Rogationists

On the occasion of the centennial of the passing of Saint Hannibal Mary Di Francia, Pope Leo XIV extends his well-wishing greetings to the Rogationists, to the Daughters of Divine Zeal, and to the laity of the Family of the Rogate, as well as to all those who will take part in the commemorative events. The Supreme Pontiff joins in the common thanksgiving to the Lord for having given to the Church such an exemplary figure of one enamored with the Gospel and an Apostle of Charity. The Holy Father hopes that this significant anniversary will awaken, especially in those who share the Founder’s charism, the desire to experience the same ardor that animated him in bearing witness to the world of salvation and, while assuring his prayerful remembrance, gladly imparts the apostolic blessing, as a pledge of copious heavenly favors.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness.

𝐙𝐄𝐋𝐔𝐒 𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐀 | The New Shepherd of the Diocese of Sandhurst

With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, let us join in prayer and thanksgiving to God for the gift of a new shepherd to the Diocese of Sandhurst through the person of 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐯. 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐳, 𝐑𝐂𝐉, 𝐃𝐃.

Hailing from Nueva Ecija, Philippines, Bishop Rene was ordained to episcopacy on 01 February 2025 and served as Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne. Now, he will be formally installed as the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst on 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 30 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 2026, 𝐚𝐭 11:00 𝐀𝐌, 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐥.

This momentous celebration follows the appointment of Bishop Rene by Pope Leo XIV on 11 April 2026. He succeeds Archbishop Shane Mackinlay, who has been appointed Archbishop of Brisbane.

As Bishop Rene begins this new chapter of his episcopal ministry, may the Lord of the Harvest grant him wisdom, strength, and pastoral charity as he shepherds the people entrusted to his care. May he continue to embody the spirit of Zelus et Misericordia—zeal and mercy—in faithful service to God and His people.

Let us accompany him with our prayers as he embraces this new mission, trusting in the grace of the Lord who calls, sends, and sustains His shepherds.
