𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫

On the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16, 2026), seven priests of the Diocese of Imus made their profession into the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) at Divine Mercy Parish in Biluso, Silang, Cavite.

The newly professed are:
• Rev. Fr. Alvin Presco
• Rev. Fr. Renato Alegre
• Rev. Fr. Dionisio Vargas Palingping
• Rev. Fr. King Eleazar Peñaranda
• Rev. Fr. Michael Cezar dela Cruz
• Rev. Fr. Romel Lagata
• Rev. Fr. Ross Erwin Layugan

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fra Dennis Vargas, OFMConv., Provincial Custos, following a spiritual preparation led by Fra Alfonsus Panaligan, OFMConv., at St. Joseph Friary in Tagaytay City.

With their profession, the Diocese of Imus now has ten clergy who are professed members of the Secular Franciscan Order.

May the Lord strengthen them in faithfully living the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

The Commission on Formation, headed by Fra Alfonsus Panaligan, OFMConv., gathered from July 13–15, 2026, at St. Joseph Friary in Tagaytay City for its meeting and ongoing formation course for formators.

Fra Dennis Vargas, OFMConv., together with the Guardian of St. Joseph Friary, joined the meeting with the formators and assistant formators.

On the first day, the commission focused on the revision of the Custodial Directory of Formation and the calendar of activities.
