RoGRASYAnista | Monthly Recollection Companion for August 2026

MONTHLY REFLECTION:
As the Church reflects on the Bread of Life, the RoGRASYAnista discovers that every vocation is nourished at the altar. The Eucharist is grace made tangible — Christ poured out so we may be filled. To receive Him is to be slowly transformed into a laborer for the harvest.

SCRIPTURE READINGS:
• John 6:22–59: The Bread of Life Discourse
• Luke 22:14–20: The Institution of the Eucharist
• 1 Corinthians 11:23–29: Worthy reception of the Eucharist
• John 13:1–15: Love to the end

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. Do I approach the Eucharist with hunger and reverence?
2. How does the Mass shape and form my vocation?
3. What in my life needs to be "poured out" in imitation of Christ?
4. How can I help others encounter Jesus in the Eucharist?

MONTHLY PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist, You are the Bread that sustains my calling. As I receive You, transform me into what I receive — a living offering for the world. Strengthen my "yes" with Your Real Presence. Like St. Hannibal who found his mission at the altar, let me discover my vocation in adoration of You. Send holy laborers into Your harvest, beginning with me. Amen.

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗸𝗲-81! 🇮🇩

Today, the Indonesian priests and brothers of the Father Di Francia Center of Studies gathered to celebrate Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. The celebration commenced with a Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Rev. Fr. Petrus Marianus and beautifully accompanied by the Indonesian brothers' as choir.

Drawing from St. Augustine in his homily, Fr. Petrus illustrated two distinct paths in discipleship: Cupiditas (worldly greed) and Caritas (divine charity). He defined Cupiditas as an attachment to fleeting things that breeds anxiety and fear, reducing human behavior to that of bees that self-protectively destroy one another. Conversely, Caritas is an properly ordered love that moves us to cherish our neighbors as temples of God. This charity transforms human struggle, directing our hearts toward Christ—the ultimate fulfillment of all desire.

The celebration was further enlivened by cultural showcases highlighting Indonesia’s rich heritage, featuring a historical overview of their independence by Bro. Yanto Bambang. To foster fellowship, the Indonesian brothers provided authentic cuisine for the entire community. Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Paulino closed the gathering with a poignant reminder: "In the spirit of Rogate, we are called to be one despite our differences.”

We also pray for our Indonesian brothers and sisters who were affected by the recent powerful 7.7 earthquake on Flores island.

On the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the community of the Father Di Francia Center of Studies gathered together with the novices, postulants, friends, and benefactors to celebrate the 34th Sacerdotal Anniversary of Fr. Benjie Redoble, RCJ.

The celebration began with the Holy Mass on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, presided over by Fr. Benjie himself, concelebrated by his brother priests in the community and other priests from nearby communities.

During his homily, Fr. Benjie thanked everyone who took part in the celebration of the Eucharist. Before the Mass ended, Fr. Pau, Superior of the FDFCS, led the whole assembly in blessing Fr. Benjie.

After the Mass, the celebration continued with dinner and program. The postulants, novices, brothers, and the St. Hannibal Choir each rendered a song for Fr. Benjie. The celebration closed with Fr. Pau's final remarks and blessing, followed by Fr. Benjie's message of thanks to everyone who came.

Once again, Happy 34th Sacerdotal Anniversary, Fr. Benjie!

GRACE AND KINDNESS IN THE MIDST OF A STORM

As Luzon experiences continuous heavy wind, rain, and flooding, the Religious brothers of the Father Di Francia Center of Studies went out to the streets to offer a little help to our brothers and sisters affected by this weather, distributing bread and noodles to those in the streets and in the evacuation centers.

As the weather continues to persist, let us continue to be instruments of God's grace for others, especially those most in need. Let us keep praying for our brothers and sisters, especially those without a roof over their heads in these difficult times.

Special thanks to Clyde's Bread and Pastries and other generous benefactors.

Send, O Lord, Holy Apostles into Your Church.

On the Feast of St. Lawrence the Deacon, Rev. Peter Thinh shared in his homily how small sacrifices become something beautiful when offered with love. This echoes today's Gospel that "unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it produces much fruit." (Jn 12:24)

Rev. Thinh relates this to the life of St. Lawrence. He said, "His (St. Lawrence) life was like a grain of wheat. He gave himself completely to God, and through his sacrifice, his life produced much fruit for the Church."

May we be inspired by St. Lawrence to embrace even the smallest sacrifices with love, trusting that when we offer ourselves to God, our lives can become seeds that bear fruit for others.

St. Lawrence the Deacon, pray for us.

APOSTOLIC BLESSING | Pope Leo XIV on the 100th Anniversary of the Transitus of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia

· · ·
SECRETARIAT OF STATE

N. 47409

Rev. Fr. Bruno Rampazzo, RCJ
Superior General, Congregation of the Rogationists

On the occasion of the centennial of the passing of Saint Hannibal Mary Di Francia, Pope Leo XIV extends his well-wishing greetings to the Rogationists, to the Daughters of Divine Zeal, and to the laity of the Family of the Rogate, as well as to all those who will take part in the commemorative events. The Supreme Pontiff joins in the common thanksgiving to the Lord for having given to the Church such an exemplary figure of one enamored with the Gospel and an Apostle of Charity. The Holy Father hopes that this significant anniversary will awaken, especially in those who share the Founder’s charism, the desire to experience the same ardor that animated him in bearing witness to the world of salvation and, while assuring his prayerful remembrance, gladly imparts the apostolic blessing, as a pledge of copious heavenly favors.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness.
