Context: 1 John 2:17 concludes John’s warning about loving “the world,” which in this passage refers not to creation or ordinary human society, but to the moral and spiritual system that stands in opposition to God. John describes this system as driven by distorted desires and human pride, and he stresses that it is already losing its influence. Its attractions are temporary and will not last. In contrast, John highlights the life of the person who “does the will of God,” meaning someone whose obedience grows out of a real and continuing relationship with Christ. This person “abides forever,” not only in terms of future life after death, but also in the sense of sharing even now in the lasting life that comes from God. The verse therefore sets up a clear contrast, a life shaped by the world’s short-lived desires versus a life shaped by enduring fellowship with God. John uses this contrast to strengthen a community confused by false teaching, reminding them that genuine Christian identity is shown through steady obedience to God rather than attachment to values that are already passing away.

*This verse invites believers to examine where their deepest loyalties and desires are rooted. John reminds us that many things we chase like recognition, possessions, comfort, and personal ambition are belong to a world whose values are already fading. They feel urgent and important, but they cannot last because they are rooted in what is temporary. For Christians today, the verse challenges us to make choices through the lens of what is eternal. Following God’s will through humility, integrity, and love is not just moral effort but it flows from a genuine relationship with Christ. That kind of obedience aligns a person with what truly endures. Practically, this means loosening our grip on the world’s standards for success and letting God’s character shape how we live. It may involve choosing honesty when it costs something, choosing service over self-promotion, or choosing spiritual growth over convenience. John teaches that our identity is not defined by a temporary world that is passing away, but by the lasting life we share with God.

Believing Unbelief

John 2:23-25

Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

Memory verse in its proper context.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
This verse was written by Jeremiah to encourage those who are in exile because of Babylonian invasion, that they should not lose their hope. Even if this happen to them because of their failure to follow the covenant made by God through Moses, still God is faithful to keep His promise.
Taken out of context many will embrace this verse as if God have plan for their life to prosper and be successful materially.
But God's plan is far more than that.
He planned to send His begotten Son as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world that through Him we can be reconciled to the Father by faith.
That our sins maybe forgiven and we can have eternal life far more than the riches of this world.
further, I am not telling that God will not prosper us materially but if we come to God to the expectation that we can be materially wealthy, then our love is not in Him but of the world
Just as Apostle instruct Timothy
1 Timothy 6:17-18
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
To conclude this
there's nothing wrong in wanting to be rich but make sure to heed to the instruction to not be arrogant, nor to put your hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
and to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

Memory Verse In Its Proper Context
Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

We must ask this verse the right question
1. Is it truly that God will give the desire of our heart if we delight in Him?
2. The Bible speak about the heart of a man heart is evil how can God give those evil desire?

First of all the theme of Psalms is all about worship
Psalms encourages its readers to praise God for who He is and what He has done.

This verse if we make our personal interpretation it will be like this God will grant my wishes and even my ambition if I delight in Him first.
But the Biblical interpretation will always be base in what the author of this verse is trying to imply to its reader

The delight and desire of the heart cannot oppose each other,
that means if we delight in the Lord our desire is also in Him.
If we truly love the Lord then our delight and desire will always be in Him.
