My Devo in Genesis 6...

God created us to be close to Him, but sin messed everything up. Because God is fair, He had to punish sin, even though it meant wiping out everything on earth. It might sound harsh, but God had waited patiently for a long time, giving people a chance to change their ways.

When God decided to start over with Noah, He didn't just save people. He saved animals too, because everything had been messed up by human sin.

When we do wrong, it doesn't just affect us—it hurts everyone around us, and even the world we live in.

But here's the good news: God gave Noah a plan to start fresh with the ark. Everyone who got on the ark was saved from disaster.

The ark was like a preview of what Jesus would do for us. He would later die on a cross to save us from our sins.

I'm thankful that God is patient and gives us new chances. I pray that with His help, I can stay close to Him and do what pleases Him, just like Noah did.🙏

Have a blessed Friday😊

Exploring the depths of my innermost yearnings and aspirations in life.

In my morning devotion, I continued to contemplate the constant pursuit of fulfillment, questioning whether my desires align with God's plan or lead me astray.

Drawing insights from 1 John 2:15–17, I reflect on the warning against worldly temptations and recognize the enemy's tactics of temptation, deception, and accusation.

Praying during tough times, I've sought God's guidance on unfulfilled desires, realizing three main traps: attempting to control everything independently, desiring more material possessions than God has provided, and seeking personal recognition.

As I continue my devotion to this, today's lesson emphasizes that my heart truly needs more of God, as His plan is the only source of genuine satisfaction. He understands my disappointments and will guide me in His way and timing.

In broader reflections on human longing, I acknowledge that universal yearning is often unnoticed in daily life. They are motivators of actions and aspirations. This yearning can lead to misguided pursuits for satisfaction in materialism, leaving a sense of restlessness.

As I read, the damaged longing from the Fall (in the Garden of Eden) perpetuates restlessness and fruitless quests for satisfaction, emphasizing the need to align my heart with the divine for true fulfillment and salvation, found only in Jesus Christ.

We can't help but experience a strong desire for purpose as we consider our future goals, driven by a conviction in a greater plan.

How do you recognize the deep longing within your heart for connection with a higher power?

Share your journey and insights on finding true fulfillment by aligning yourself with the divine plan.

Let's inspire and support each other in seeking purpose and satisfaction in God's wisdom. 💖

Today in my morning devotion...

I'm reflecting on the constant search for fulfillment and questioning whether my desires bring me closer to God's plan or push me away.

Reading 1 John 2:15-17...

It warns against falling for worldly temptations like wanting things just for the sake of having them, craving what others have, or trying to look more important than we are. Falling for these temptations, comparing them to how the enemy tricked people like Eve and even Jesus.

This is how the enemy works: Tempt, Deceive and Accuse.

Then I remembered praying in tough times, asking God to either take away my unfulfilled desires or show me a way forward. It's tough when what we're asking for seems good and reasonable, especially when we see others getting blessings, right?

Thinking about my own struggles, I see three main traps😪: trying to control everything on my own, wanting more material things than what God has given, and seeking recognition or importance for myself. These are the things the enemy wants us to fall for, leading us away from what's good and settling for something less.

The key lesson I got from today's devotion is that what my heart truly need is more of God. His plan is the only thing that can really satisfy me. He knows the answers to my disappointments and will guide me in the right direction, in His way and timing because He has a good plan for good things.

And so my prayer is, as I go through my day, God help me figure out what aligns with Your plan. When I desire things, give me the strength to trust You more and resist the allure of things that won't truly satisfy me. Guide me to find fulfillment in Your plan alone, steering clear of the traps of wanting to control everything, seeking more stuff, and trying to look more important. Let my main desire be for more of You, as You hold the answers to my problems and guide my wants in Your way and time.🙏

Have a blessed day, guys!♥️

Exciting News! 🙏✨

Entering 2024 after celebrating my birthday, I took a moment to ponder the resolutions and plans I set in the past year. While many things fell into place, there were also aspects that didn't quite materialize as I had hoped.

This year, I've decided to take a different approach by slowing down and focusing on what truly matters – my spiritual growth.

In my golden years, I realize that time is a precious gift, and there's no better time than now to deepen more my understanding of my Savior, Jesus. So, my resolution for 2024 is to let God rekindle the fire in my prayer life, devotion time, and overall spiritual journey.

Today marks a special milestone as we embark on our first face-to-face Bible study with my church-mates. I'm genuinely looking forward to delving into the Word, growing closer to God, and nurturing my faith. Bible time truly is my cup of tea, and I'm eager to sip on the wisdom and guidance it offers.

I hope to share my spiritual journey, and perhaps we can explore the treasures within the Scriptures together! 🌟📚🙌

Part 2: Unveiling the Eternal Significance: Things That Will Not "Pass Away"
(Part 1: Things that will "Pass Away")

In the scriptural narrative, the concept of "passing away" is both a reminder of transience and a revelation of eternal truths. This time, we delve into three unshakable facets that stand firm amidst the passage of time.

1. The Immutable Words of Christ:
Matthew 24:34-35 illuminates the enduring nature of Christ's words. As the Prophet, His teachings transcend temporal boundaries, imparting divine wisdom that remains eternally relevant, guiding generations through the complexities of life.

2. The Unfaltering Cup of Suffering:
Matthew 26:36-46 unveils the cup of suffering Christ bore. As the Priest, His unwavering commitment to fulfill His redemptive purpose reflects the unchanging nature of His sacrifice. This sacrifice, though intense, did not pass away, securing salvation for all who believe.

3. The Everlasting Dominion of Christ:
Drawing from Daniel 7:13-14, we witness Christ's unending dominion. As the King, His authority and reign transcend the limitations of time, ushering in a kingdom that knows no end, where justice and righteousness prevail eternally.

The Threefold Office of Christ:

Christ, as Redeemer, seamlessly assumes three offices for His chosen people. As Prophet, He unveils the path of salvation. As Priest, He secures and bestows saving grace, offering His sacrifice for forgiveness and reconciliation. As King, He establishes His reign in the hearts of believers, guiding them into a life of transformed obedience.

Christ's unchanging nature as Prophet, Priest, and King ensures His perpetual service to the elect. Hebrews 13:8 encapsulates this eternal consistency: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." In a world marked by flux, His constancy remains a steadfast foundation for all who seek salvation.

In the midst of chaotic world we have at the moment, these truths remain unwavering. Christ's words, His sacrificial cup, and His everlasting dominion stand as beacons of eternal significance, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of His redemptive purpose and the enduring nature of His grace.

"How can understanding the idea of 'passing away' help us find lasting wisdom and embrace the concept of eternity in our daily lives?"

Sharing with you my learnings from the 2 Sunday services: Focusing on the phrase "Passing Away" by Preacher Jared.

Exploring the many ways that the Bible talks about death. Even though the phrase is often linked to death, it applies to many things in life.

1. Getting off the path of the wicked: Proverbs 4:14–15

I learned that "passing away" means getting off the path of the wicked. This shows us how important it is to choose the truth and stay away from things that are against God.

2. The Transience of Harmful Relationships: Job 6:15

It showed me that people who hurt us will "pass away" in the end. This made me feel better when bad things happened because it reminded me that even bad relationships don't last forever.

3. Our days are short. Psalm 144:3–4

Showed how short our lives are. It makes me think about how quickly my days go by and reminds me to make good use of our time with purpose.

4. Changing generations: Ecclesiastes 1:4

It showed me how generations go through a cycle. His teachings emphasize the continuation of life and encourage us to leave something behind that will last after we're gone.

5. What Will Happen to the Wicked? Psalm 58:8

I learned that the wicked will "pass away" in the end. He teaches me not to be jealous of their worldly things because they won't last.

6. The Allure of Money: James 1:9–11 and 1 Timothy 6:17–19

A warning against getting too attached to money. He tells us that material wealth will always "pass away," and he urges us to put spiritual riches first.

7. How Long Material Happiness Lasts: Job 30:15

He explained how temporary personal wealth is. Knowing that happiness on earth is temporary, he mentioned looking for happiness on a spiritual level.

8. Change through New Birth: 2 Corinthians 5:17–19,

Which says that when we are spiritually reborn, our evil past has "passed away."

In other words, "passing away" showed that it has a deeper meaning than just dying. I learned how quickly things can change and to put more value on spiritual growth and things that last than on temporary joys and things.

Ready to uncover the timeless lessons hidden within the notion of 'passing away?

Join me for Part 2, where we delve deeper into "Things That Will Not "Pass Away" 😊
