As a guide for our daily 40-day prayer chain, here are a few prayer items to help guide you and your family in prayers and intercession:
Begin with Personal Renewal & Surrender.
Ask God to search your heart and reveal anything that may be hindering your relationship with Him. Pray for forgiveness of sins, a hunger for prayer and the Word, renewal of a steadfast commitment to your everyday walk of faith, and a heart for the lost.
Intercede for the Needs of the Congregation
Pray that the congregation of Village Baptist Church would find their greatest needs satisfied when they seek Him. Prayer for Needs (Health for the Sick, Financial Needs, Members in need of work, Family harmony, etc.) Below are some notable prayer items for our sick members:
- Sis. Virgie Barredo, as she recovers from low platelets due to Leukemia and her five sessions in Chemotherapy.
- Sis. Perlita Caboocan, for her mother, who is sick with end-stage kidney disease in Tuguegarao.
- Bro. Jun Cruz, as he recovers from his heart operation.
- Bro. Nico Delapa, as he recovers from bruises and body pain, due to his vehicular accident.
- Sis. Edith Austria, who is now in end-stage renal failure.
Intercede for the Ministry and the Church
Pray that the congregation would be bound together in love, purpose, and mission. Ask God to remove division, offense, and pride, and that the church would reflect the oneness Jesus prayed for in John 17: a unity that testifies to the world. Notable targeted prayers would be:
- Prayer for a spiritual breakthrough to happen in the midst of Village.
- Prayer for the Sunday Service (Preacher, Praise and Tech Team, Staff, Sunday School, Youth and Kids Ministry)
- Prayer for the SEC matters of the church, and wisdom for the leaders.
- Prayer for the upcoming special events: Family Retreat, Holy Week, Trainings, etc.
Prayer for the Lost & Unsaved.
Lift up family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who do not yet know Christ. Ask God to soften hearts, remove spiritual blindness, and bring divine encounters and conversations that open doors to the Gospel. If a name comes to mind, pray specifically for that person (dear loved one) to be able to encounter Christ and surrender their lives to Him.
For Local and International leaders.
Pray for wisdom, integrity, and godly counsel for your city officials, pastors, judges, and government leaders. Ask that justice, righteousness, and peace would prevail in your community and nation. Pray for the local leadership to be driven by compassion and love instead of greed and selfishness. Pray also for peace in the midst of war torn or dictatorship led countries.
For Missionaries & the Global Church
Pray for those on the front lines of ministry, namely: Missionaries, persecuted believers, church planters, and evangelists. Ask God to protect them, strengthen them, and bring back a great harvest of souls around the world. Give ppecial prayers for the persecuted countries like Nigeria, and recently, Iran. Pray for the mercy of God to reach the lost in those closed countries where the bible is hard to find.
Note: If you have any prayer request, kindly send it to us and we will include you in our prayer list. Prayer requests you would like to send privately and not posted, just send it to the messenger of Ptr. Erich Velasco. God bless you all in our 40-day Lenten Prayer Chain.
