From September 4โ€“8, 2026, the Frassati Society Philippines and Association of the Friends of Saint Carlo Acutis Philippines will unite in celebrating the First Anniversary of the Canonization of Sts. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis at Sto. Domingo Parish, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, La Naval de Manila, Quezon City.

The celebration carries the theme โ€œMAKE YOUR LIFE A MASTERPIECE: Created for Greatness, Called to Holiness,โ€ inviting everyone, especially young people, to rediscover the beauty and greatness of the Christian vocation.

In his homily at the Canonization of Sts. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis, Pope Leo XIV encouraged everyone, particularly the young, โ€œnot to squander our lives, but to direct them upwards and make them masterpieces.โ€ With these words, the Holy Father presents the Christian vocation through the language of art.

A masterpiece is the fullest expression of an artistโ€™s skill, beauty, vision, and purpose. In the Christian life, God Himself is the Divine Artist. Yet God does not force His design upon us. Instead, He lovingly invites us to cooperate with His grace, freely allowing Him to shape, refine, and transform our lives into living reflections of Jesus Christ.

The lives of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Carlo Acutis beautifully reveal what this vocation can look like. Though they lived in different generations and circumstances, both allowed God to work through the ordinary realities of their lives. Through friendship, study, service, prayer, charity, the Eucharist, and love for the Church, they transformed the ordinary into something extraordinary: a life offered completely to God and to others.

Their witness reminds us that holiness is not reserved for a select few, nor is it something distant or impossible. Holiness is the universal vocation of every Christian. Each of us has been created with a unique purpose, endowed with gifts, called to greatness, and invited to become a masterpiece in the hands of God.

This anniversary celebration therefore seeks not merely to remember two young saints, but to encounter their witness, rediscover our own vocation, and respond courageously to God's invitation to holiness.

Like Pier Giorgio and Carlo, we are called to look verso l'altoโ€”to the heightsโ€”and to make of our lives something beautiful for the glory of God.

One month to go!

Roughly a year has passed since the Church joyfully proclaimed St. Carlo Acutis and St. Pier Giorgio Frassati among the saints. Yet their witness continues to speak powerfully to our generation.

One found Christ in the Eucharist and the digital world. The other found Him in the poor, the mountains, and everyday life. Different paths, one destination: Heaven.

As we commemorate the first anniversary of their canonization, may their lives remind us that sanctity is not reserved for a few. It is possible here and now, especially for the young who dare to say "yes" to Christ.

Details on the event will posted really soon!

Happy Feast of St. John Mary Vianney! Happy Priests' Day! ๐Ÿค

Today, we honor St. John Mary Vianney, the humble Curรฉ of Ars, whose life reminds us that the holiness of a priest is one of God's greatest gifts to His Church.

As we celebrate our beloved priests, let us also remember the words of St. Carlo Acutis: "The Eucharist is my highway to heaven."

Every day, our priests make this "highway to heaven" possible for us. Through their hands, Christ becomes truly present in the Holy Eucharist. Through their ministry, we receive God's mercy, His Word, and His grace.

To all our priests, especially to Bishop Dennis our Episcopal Promoter, Fr. Jerome our Spiritual Director and Fr. Baltazar Nap our Associate Spiritual Director, thank you for your generous "yes" to Christ. May the example of St. John Mary Vianney inspire you to be holy shepherds, and may the witness of St. Carlo Acutis remind us all to love Jesus ever more deeply in the Eucharist.

Happy Priests' Day! We thank God for your vocation, and we continue to pray for you.

THE AMAZING ST. CARLO ACUTIS ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

The image of St. Carlo Acutis dressed as Spider-Man reminds us that holiness isn't reserved for another time or another generation. Even in today's modern world, God continues to call each of us to become saints.

You don't need superpowers to change the worldโ€”you simply need a heart that loves God, lives with faith, and serves others every day.

Like Saint Carlo showed us, sainthood is possible even in sneakers, with technology, and in the ordinary moments of life. The universal call to holiness is for everyoneโ€”including you.

St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us! ๐Ÿ™

โ€œLove Mary, Love the Eucharistโ€: Fr. Jerome Ponce, OFM Highlights the Marian Spirituality of Saint Carlo Acutis

TANYAG, TAGUIG CITY โ€” June 19, 2026 โ€” Parishioners, youth, church workers, and devotees gathered at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish for a Marian formation talk led by Fr. Jerome Ponce, OFM, who reflected on the theme โ€œAng Mahal na Birheng Maria sa Buhay ni San Carlo Acutis.โ€ The gathering offered participants a deeper appreciation of how devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary led the young saint to an extraordinary love for Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Fr. Ponce presented Saint Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint of the Catholic Church, as a model of holiness for the modern world. Canonized by Pope Leo XIV on September 7, 2025, Carlo became known worldwide as the โ€œCyber Apostle of the Eucharistโ€ because of his use of digital technology to promote faith, especially devotion to the Eucharist.

At the heart of the talk was one of Carloโ€™s well-known statements: โ€œMary is the only woman in my life.โ€ Fr. Ponce explained that this declaration reflected Carloโ€™s profound relationship with the Blessed Mother, whom he regarded as his mother, protector, friend, and guide to Jesus.

โ€œSino si Maria sa ating buhay?โ€ Fr. Ponce asked the participants. โ€œInilalapit ba tayo ng ating debosyon kay Maria kay Kristo o inilalayo tayo nito?โ€

He emphasized that authentic Marian devotion always leads believers closer to Jesus and never away from Him.

The Secret of Carloโ€™s Holiness

According to Fr. Ponce, the secret of Carlo Acutisโ€™ holiness was simple: the Eucharist and Mary.

Carloโ€™s famous motto, โ€œThe Eucharist is my highway to heaven,โ€ summarized the center of his spiritual life. From a young age, he attended Mass daily, prayed the Rosary faithfully, and went to confession regularly.

โ€œRosaryo, Misa, at Kumpisal,โ€ Fr. Ponce said, โ€œito ang mga haliging bumuo sa kabanalan ni Carlo.โ€

The Franciscan priest explained that while Carlo deeply loved Mary, his devotion never ended with her. Rather, Mary continually led him toward Jesus in the Eucharist.

โ€œHabang minamahal niya si Maria,โ€ Fr. Ponce noted, โ€œmas lalo niyang minahal si Kristo.โ€

Mary: The First Tabernacle

One of the highlights of the formation was the reflection on Mary as the first tabernacle.

Before Christ became sacramentally present in churches throughout the world, He first dwelt in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For this reason, Fr. Ponce explained that Mary possesses a unique relationship with the Eucharist.

โ€œKung nais nating matutong mahalin si Hesus sa Eukaristiya,โ€ he said, โ€œmatututo tayo kay Maria.โ€

The connection between Mary and the Eucharist became evident in Carloโ€™s life. His devotion to the Blessed Mother nurtured within him a profound Eucharistic spirituality that eventually shaped every aspect of his life.

The Rosary: A School of Prayer and Holiness

Fr. Ponce also described the Rosary as a school of prayer and a school of holiness.

For Carlo, the Rosary became a powerful weapon against temptation, anxiety, and the countless distractions of modern life. Through praying the mysteries of Christ with Mary, he learned to focus on what truly mattered.

Participants were reminded that the Rosary is not merely a repetitive prayer but a means of contemplating the life of Jesus through the eyes of His Mother.

Maryโ€™s words at the Wedding Feast of Cana served as the foundation of this spirituality:

โ€œDo whatever He tells you.โ€

According to Fr. Ponce, these words summarize the entire mission of Mary. She always points believers toward Jesus and teaches them to follow Him faithfully.

From Devotion to Action

The Franciscan priest stressed that genuine devotion must lead to concrete Christian action.

The life of Saint Carlo Acutis demonstrated a progression from devotion, to deeper knowledge of Christ, and ultimately to service.

Beyond prayer, Carlo performed acts of charity and showed concern for those in need. His spirituality was not limited to personal devotion but was expressed through love of neighbor and generosity toward the poor.

โ€œAng tunay na debosyon,โ€ Fr. Ponce explained, โ€œay humahantong sa pagkilos para sa kapwa.โ€

Evangelizing in the Digital Age

As the โ€œCyber Apostle of the Eucharist,โ€ Carlo also showed how modern technology can become an instrument of evangelization.

Fr. Ponce encouraged participants, particularly the youth, to imitate Carlo by using digital media responsibly and creatively to share the Gospel.

Whether in the family, parish, school, workplace, or online communities, Christians are called to become witnesses of Christ.

He challenged young people to remain faithful to their identity as disciples of Jesus and echoed Carloโ€™s famous exhortation:

โ€œBe original.โ€

In a world that pressures many to conform, Carloโ€™s life demonstrates that holiness remains possible for every generation.

Mary Guided Carlo to Sainthood

As the formation concluded, Fr. Ponce highlighted the virtues that marked Carloโ€™s life: humility, purity, obedience, and faith.

These virtues, he said, were cultivated under the maternal guidance of Mary, who led the young saint toward a deeper union with Christ.

Participants were encouraged to strengthen family prayer, teach children to pray, deepen their love for the Eucharist, and cultivate devotion to the Blessed Mother.

As a concrete spiritual challenge, Fr. Ponce invited the faithful to undertake 30 days of praying the Rosary, attending Holy Mass, and spending time in Eucharistic Adoration, following the example of Saint Carlo Acutis.

The formation ended with a simple yet powerful message that captured the spirituality of the young saint:

โ€œLove Mary. Pray the Rosary. Love the Eucharist.โ€

For in the life of Saint Carlo Acutis, the faithful discover that devotion to Mary always leads to Jesus Christโ€”the true highway to heaven. /Fr. Lito Jopson, Pasig Soccom
