The early church baptized in Jesusโ€™ name because they understood that Jesus is the full revelation of Godโ€™s saving authority, and they obeyed both His command and the apostolic teaching.

Hereโ€™s a clear, Bible-based explanation:

1. Jesus Gave the Authority of โ€œThe Nameโ€
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus said:
โ€œGo ye thereforeโ€ฆ baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.โ€
Notice: โ€œnameโ€ (singular) โ€” not names.
The apostles understood that this one name is Jesus, because:
Jesus said He came in His Fatherโ€™s name (John 5:43)
The Holy Spirit is sent in Jesusโ€™ name (John 14:26)
๐Ÿ‘‰ So the fullness of the Father, Son, and Spirit is revealed in Jesusโ€™ name.

2. The Apostles Practiced Baptism in Jesusโ€™ Name
When the church began in Acts 2:38, Peter preached:
โ€œRepent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sinsโ€ฆโ€
This wasnโ€™t an isolated case. It was the consistent practice:
Acts 8:16 โ€“ Samaritans were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
Acts 10:48 โ€“ Corneliusโ€™ household was commanded to be baptized in the name of the Lord
Acts 19:5 โ€“ Disciples in Ephesus were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
๐Ÿ‘‰ The early church always used Jesusโ€™ name in baptism.

3. Salvation and Remission Are in Jesusโ€™ Name
The reason is simple: salvation is tied to His name.
Acts 4:12
โ€œNeither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heavenโ€ฆ whereby we must be saved.โ€
Luke 24:47
โ€œRepentance and remission of sins should be preached in his nameโ€ฆโ€
๐Ÿ‘‰ Baptism is for the remission of sins, so it is done in the name that brings salvation โ€” Jesus.

4. Baptism Identifies Us with Jesus
Romans 6:3
โ€œSo many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death.โ€
Galatians 3:27
โ€œAs many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.โ€
๐Ÿ‘‰ Baptism is not just a ritualโ€”it is identification with Jesus, so His name is invoked.

5. The Early Church Followed Revelation, Not Tradition
The apostles did not repeat words mechanicallyโ€”they obeyed the meaning of Jesusโ€™ command.
They understood:
The name of the Father โ†’ Jesus
The name of the Son โ†’ Jesus
The name of the Holy Spirit โ†’ Jesus
๐Ÿ‘‰ That is why every recorded baptism in the New Testament is in Jesusโ€™ name.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Summary
The early church baptized in Jesusโ€™ name because:
Jesus gave authority in one name
The apostles understood that name to be Jesus
Salvation and forgiveness are found in His name
Baptism identifies believers with Christ Himself

24/02/2026

Yes, the chair.

Not the microphone.
Not the spotlight.
Not the pulpit.

The chair.

Because fixing the chair means serving when no one is clapping.
It means bending your knees before you ever stand on a platform.
It means choosing humility over recognition.

In a generation that wants the stage, few are willing to carry the chairs.
In a time when many desire titles, few desire towels.

But remember, before there was ever a throne, there was a cross.
Before the crown, there was suffering.
Before exaltation, there was humility.

Even our Lord Jesus washed feet (John 13:14โ€“15).
Even He chose the lowest place.

Fixing the chair is not small.
It is sacred.

Because when you align a chair, you prepare a place for someone to encounter God.
When you sweep the floor, you clear the ground for miracles.
When you serve in silence, heaven takes notice.

The hardest ministry is not preaching.
It is staying humble.
It is serving when you feel unseen.
It is showing up when nobody says thank you.

But hear this:

God promotes the faithful.
God sees the hidden.
God rewards the servant.

Luke 16:10 says, "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.โ€

If you cannot fix the chair with joy, you are not ready for the altar.

The chair ministry breaks pride.
It crushes ego.
It builds character.

And in a world full of performers, God is still looking for servants.

So if your assignment today is to fix the chair,
Fix it with fire.
Fix it with honor.
Fix it knowing that Heaven is watching.

Because the one who is faithful in the hidden
will one day be revealed in glory.

When the Journey is too Hard
I Kings 19: 1-8

โ€ฆSometimes we have to go through difficulty to be reminded of our need for the Lordโ€ฆ

โ€ฆThe only hope we have is through the power of the Lord. You will never make it trying to survive on what this world can give, but if you will humble yourself before the Lord and allow Him to provide for you, you can endure the difficulties ahead. He is our only hope for this journey.
