You don't have to hate God to drift away from Him.

Sometimes, you simply stop caring.

You still attend church.

Still sing the songs.

Still know the Scriptures.

Still say, "God bless."

But somewhere along the way, the fire became a routine.

Prayer became optional.

Worship became familiar.

Conviction became easy to ignore.

And the passion you once had for God slowly faded.

That's the danger of being lukewarm.

You're not completely against God.

You're just no longer deeply committed to Him.

"The greatest danger isn't opposition to Godโ€”it's indifference toward Him."

Because opposition is obvious.

Indifference is subtle.

Opposition says, "I don't want God."

Indifference says, "I want God, but not enough to change."

And that's much harder to recognize.

You can sit in the same pew and still have a heart that is far away.

You can serve in church and still lose your hunger for God's presence.

You can know the language of Christianity while slowly losing love for Christ.

"You don't have to leave the church to leave your first love."

A fading candle doesn't go dark in one second.

The flame gets smaller.

Quieter.

Weaker.

Until eventually, there is nothing left.

That's how spiritual lukewarmness works.

Not one massive decision.

But countless moments where you chose comfort over conviction.

Entertainment over prayer.

Convenience over obedience.

Self over surrender.

And eventually, what once burned becomes barely warm.

Jesus never called us to merely remain around Him.

He called us to follow Him.

To love Him.

To seek Him.

To surrender everything to Him.

If your spiritual life feels cold today, don't ignore it.

Don't settle for being close enough to church while being far from God.

Return to the altar.

Return to prayer.

Return to hunger.

Return to your first love.

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot..."
โ€” Revelation 3:15

God is not looking for a candle that barely flickers.

He wants a heart that burns for Him again.

Energetic in worship, drowsy during the Word? This isn't just being tired; it's a spiritual disconnect. If you genuinely love God, honor His spoken truths as passionately as you sing.

You think God is making you wait
because you did something wrong.

Not every delay is punishment.

Sometimes the wait is preparation.

You want the promise.

God is preparing your character
to carry it.

You want the blessing.

God is preparing your heart
to steward it.

You want the open door.

God may be preparing you
for what is behind it.

โ€œWait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.โ€
โ€” Psalm 27:14

We hate waiting
because waiting feels like nothing is happening.

But heaven is not silent
just because you cannot see movement.

God can be working
while you're waiting.

Developing your patience.

Strengthening your faith.

Correcting your motives.

Teaching you obedience.

Preparing you for something
you are not ready to receive yet.

And sometimes,

God delays the answer
because He is developing the person
who will carry the answer.

So stop measuring God's faithfulness
by how quickly He responds.

The waiting season
is still a God-ordained season.

Don't waste it
complaining about what hasn't happened.

Let God build in you
what the next season will require.

Because when God finally opens the door,

you won't just need the blessing.

You'll need the character
to keep it.

His โ€œwaitโ€ is not punishment.

It may be preparation.

Don't rush what God is using
to prepare you.

MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY | Psalm 1 ๐Ÿ“–

What does it truly mean to be blessed?
Not a life free from trouble, but a life rooted in Godโ€™s Word and separated from the ways of the world.

Bishop Mario Pestaรฑo speaks on The Blessed Man. It is a call to examine where we stand, what we delight in, and what is shaping our lives.

Are we planted by the rivers of Godโ€™s Word, or are we being carried by the currents of the world? ๐ŸŒฟ

Stop comparing your relationship to what you see online.

You see the flowers, date nights, anniversary posts, surprise gifts, matching outfits, and perfectly captured momentsโ€”but you don't see the conversations that happened off-camera, the struggles they don't post, or the seasons they're quietly working through.

Social media shows you **moments.**
Marriage gives you **the whole story.**

Don't let someone else's highlight reel make you despise the ordinary beauty in your own home.

Maybe your relationship isn't picture-perfect.

Maybe you're both tired. Maybe the house is messy. Maybe there are disagreements, responsibilities, bills, and seasons where romance feels quieter.

That doesn't automatically mean your marriage is failing.

**Real love isn't measured by how beautiful it looks online. It's measured by how faithfully you love each other when nobody is watching.**

Put the phone down.

Look at what God has entrusted to you.

Choose gratitude over comparison. Choose growth over performance. And remember: **you don't need a relationship that looks impressive to strangersโ€”you need one that is healthy, faithful, and pleasing to God.**

Why Did the Early Church Preach One God?

Because that was the message they received from Scripture.

The early church was not trying to create a new understanding of God. They were continuing the truth already declared in the Old Testament:

โ€œHear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.โ€
โ€” Deuteronomy 6:4

The apostles did not suddenly replace this truth when Jesus came.

Peter preached Jesus as Lord and Christ.
Paul declared that โ€œthere is none other God but one.โ€
โ€” 1 Corinthians 8:4

And when the early believers preached Jesus, they did not present Him as a second God beside the Father.

They preached that God had manifested Himself in Christ.

โ€œFor God was manifest in the flesh.โ€
โ€” 1 Timothy 3:16

This is why the message of one God was so central to apostolic preaching.

The question was never simply, โ€œHow many persons can we identify in Scripture?โ€

The question was, โ€œWhat does Scripture reveal about the identity of the one true God?โ€

The apostles were not preaching a complicated God.

They were preaching the God of Israel, revealed in Jesus Christ.

One God.
One Lord.
One faith.

๐Ÿ“– Deuteronomy 6:4
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 8:4โ€“6
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 3:16
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 4:5โ€“6

02/09/2026

You cannot walk into a new season while dragging the weight of the old one.

Some people are moving forward physically.

But emotionally, they're still standing in yesterday.

Still replaying what happened.

Still carrying the betrayal.

Still remembering the failure.

Still punishing themselves for mistakes God has already forgiven.

The past keeps whispering:

"You should have known better."

"You'll never change."

"You don't deserve another chance."

And because the wound was real, they assume the weight must remain.

But pain may explain your past.

It does not have to control your future.

"I forgave it. Why are you still carrying it?"

Sometimes we ask God for a new beginning while refusing to release the old one.

We pray for healing but keep reopening the wound.

We ask for peace but keep rehearsing the pain.

We ask God to lead us forward while constantly looking behind us.

You cannot walk freely while dragging chains God already broke.

Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay.

It means you refuse to let what happened own you.

It means the person who hurt you no longer gets to control your future.

It means your past becomes a testimony instead of a prison.

And sometimes the person you need to forgive most is yourself.

For the mistakes.

The wasted years.

The wrong decisions.

The opportunities you missed.

If God has forgiven you, stop demanding a punishment from yourself that He never demanded.

The sunrise ahead is not asking you to forget yesterday.

It's inviting you to stop living there.

Leave the chains on the ground.

Take the next step.

There is still purpose ahead.

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old."
โ€” Isaiah 43:18

God is not asking you to drag yesterday into tomorrow.

He's asking you to trust Him with what is behind you so you can walk freely into what is ahead.

You called it rejection.

God may have called it protection.

Not every closed door
is a missed opportunity.

Some doors close
because God saw what you couldn't.

You saw the opportunity.

He saw the consequences.

You saw the person.

He saw what the relationship
could have done to your soul.

You saw the promotion.

He saw the compromise
it could have required.

You saw the open door.

He saw what was waiting
on the other side.

โ€œFor the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor.โ€
โ€” Psalm 84:11

Sometimes God protects you
by saying no
to what you desperately wanted.

And because you couldn't see
what He saw,

you called His protection
a disappointment.

But God doesn't owe us
an explanation for every closed door.

Sometimes faith means saying,

โ€œI don't understand it,
but I trust the One who closed it.โ€

Stop begging God
to reopen what He deliberately shut.

Some doors need to stay closed.

Some people need to stay in the past.

Some opportunities need to remain
what they were:

a no from God.

Because the door you are crying over today
may be the door you thank God for tomorrow.

You may never know
what He protected you from.

And you don't have to.

Trust doesn't require
full visibility.

Sometimes God's greatest mercy
looks like a door
you desperately wanted open.

What feels like rejection
may be divine protection.

Let the door stay closed.

If God closed it,

His grace is enough
to lead you through the door
He actually has for you.

Love can make you hopefulโ€”but it should never make you blind.

Sometimes we see the warning signs and start negotiating with them because we don't want to lose the person.

โ€œThey'll change.โ€
โ€œMaybe I'm overthinking.โ€
โ€œIt's not that serious.โ€
โ€œBut I love them.โ€

No. **A red flag doesn't become a green flag just because your feelings are strong.**

Don't let chemistry silence discernment.
Don't let attraction override character.
Don't let potential make you ignore patterns.

As a Christian, you're not called to follow your heart blindly. You're called to walk in wisdom.

**Feelings can tell you what you want. Discernment helps you recognize what is right.**

If you have to constantly explain away dishonesty, disrespect, manipulation, inconsistency, or a lack of spiritual direction, stop and pay attention.

Not every beautiful path is a God-given path.

Sometimes the warning sign is God's mercy giving you an opportunity to stop before you get hurt.

**Don't pray for God to remove the red flag while you're determined to keep walking toward it.**
