The phrase ‘Shabbat Shalom’ means ‘peaceful Shabbat’.

It is used as a greeting on the day of Shabbat and references the fact that Shabbat is a day of peaceful rest.

According to the Torah, God created the world in six days, and then rested on the seventh. Shabbat is the seventh day of the week, and is a day of rest for you, too!

Just like a painter takes a step back to refocus and admire his or her work, Shabbat provides a sanctuary in time to reflect and find peace and harmony within yourself and the surrounding world.

The greeting "shabbat shalom" signifies that aspiration for peace and harmony. 🤍

I love this reminder.

Every morning, G-d gives us something we didn’t earn. Another sunrise. Another breath. Another opportunity to begin again.

We spend so much time replaying yesterday’s mistakes that we forget something beautiful: the soul wakes up new every morning. Not because yesterday didn’t matter, but because G-d believes we are always more than our worst moment.

You don’t have to carry yesterday into today. The conversation that didn’t go well. The opportunity you missed. The habit you’re still trying to break. The guilt you’ve been dragging around for far too long.

The sun never asks yesterday for permission to rise. It simply rises.

Maybe that’s our invitation too.

This one feels so needed today.

Respect isn’t reserved for people who agree with us. It isn’t something we offer only when someone earns it.

Respect is a reflection of who we are.

The Torah teaches that every human being is created b’tzelem Elokim, in the image of G-d. That means every interaction is holy. Every interaction. Every waiter. Every child. Every elderly person. Every stranger. Every person who sees the world differently than we do.

It’s easy to be kind when life is going our way. The real measure of our character is how we treat people when we’re tired, stressed, disappointed, or convinced we’re right.

Because long after people forget what we said, they’ll remember how we made them feel.
