Move..

Because sometimes the problem isn’t where you are. It’s how long you’ve been standing still inside yourself.

Trees don’t move… but they grow. They stretch downward before they stretch upward. They don’t uproot every time the weather gets hard.

So maybe the real question isn’t:
“Should I move?” But: Am I staying out of fear… or out of faith? Am I stuck because I’m numb… or because something in me is still growing roots?

There are moments when movement is courage. And moments when staying is the bravest thing you’ll ever do. Wisdom is knowing the difference.

You’re right… you’re not a tree. But you are a soul.

Sometimes the holiest move is a step forward. And sometimes it’s standing still long enough for something new to finally take root.

Happy Tu Bishvat!❤️

Today starts Tu BiShvat ט״ו בִּשְׁבָט — the holiday of trees 🌳

And this is the שְׁקֵדִיָּה /sh-ke-dee-yah/ — the almond tree — blooming in all its glory.

Here’s the beautiful wordplay in Hebrew:

שָׁקֵד /sha-ked/ — almond
שַׁקְדָן /shak-dan/ — a diligent, hard-working person

The almond tree is called “the diligent one” because it blooms first each spring. It doesn’t wait — it shows up early.

This idea appears in the Bible itself. The root ש-ק-ד means to be alert, attentive, and quick to act — exactly the almond tree’s nature.

Thanks to a beloved Tu BiShvat song, we now call the tree שְׁקֵדִיָּה, while the nut remains שָׁקֵד — a small linguistic shift rooted in culture and song.

Tu BiShvat celebrates renewal, growth, and showing up — again and again.

חג שמח 🌸💙
