Archdiocese of Palo delegates join the Cebu Metropolitan Catholic Mass Media Congress

Twelve delegates from the Archdiocese of Palo's INFOCOM have arrived at the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Basak Campus, to take part in the two-day Cebu Metropolitan Catholic Mass Media Congress. The delegation is made up of vicariate coordinators from across the Archdiocese and is accompanied by Rev. Fr. Chris Arthur Militante.

This year's congress carries the theme "Human Dignity at the Heart of AI Innovation in Media Ministry." It speaks to a pressing reality of the Fourth Industrial Revolution: as artificial intelligence reshapes how information is created, shared, and consumed, the human person risks being pushed to the margins.

For those in media ministry, this issue matters. The Church is not called to fear AI or to worship it, but to use it with discernment, so that ministers control it and are not controlled by it. A tool can help share the Gospel, but it cannot replace the heart, the witness, or the human face of the Church.

The delegates hope to bring what they learn back to their vicariates and use these tools wisely, especially for the youth, who spend so much of their time online.

Media evangelization works best when it still feels human, and that is what they hope to carry home.

The CBCP issues a pastoral statement following the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao parliamentary elections.

The statement expresses the Church’s hope for lasting peace, justice, reconciliation and genuine self-governance in the Bangsamoro. It also calls for continued dialogue, mutual respect and cooperation among Muslims, Christians, Indigenous Peoples and other communities.

NATIONAL CATECHETICAL SUNDAY

Today, we joyfully remember and give thanks for all our catechists who generously serve the Lord through the ministry of evangelization and catechesis—a ministry so close to the heart of the Church.

May we continue to be missionary disciples of Christ, sharing His love and Gospel with joy, courage, and faithfulness.

With Mary, Queen of Evangelization, may we renew our commitment to serve the Lord and His Church and bring others closer to Jesus.
