𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟰𝟬𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Today, as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, we lift our hearts in prayer and thanksgiving to God for the gift of freedom and unity that our nation received through peaceful courage and faith. The different ministries of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Libertad Palo, Leyte together our parish priest Rev. Fr. Filomeno "Elmo" O. Borgueta, join the nation in remembering the legacy of EDSA, a reminder that the power of truth, prayer, and solidarity can overcome darkness and injustice.

Together with the different parishes of the Vicariate of Palo, we stand for Honesty, Accountability, and Good Governance—values that reflect our Christian calling to serve with integrity and love. May the Lord continue to guide our leaders and people, that we may always choose what is right, work for the common good, and become instruments of peace, justice, and unity in our beloved country.

𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬 | Pope Benedict XVI appoints Bishop John F. Du, D.D., then Bishop of Dumaguete, as the fourth Archbishop of Palo.

The archdiocese was in "sede vacante" for one year and four months (Oct 2010-Feb 2012) following the appointment of Archbishop Jose S. Palma to the Archdiocese of Cebu.

Let us continue to pray for our dear archbishop for his continued dedication to Episcopal ministry.

𝟰𝟬𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬

Beginning today, February 22, until Tuesday, February 24, we will have a Triduum Mass in preparation for the fruitful celebration of the 40th anniversary of the miraculous event at EDSA.

There will be activities on February 25, 2026. At 4:00 in the afternoon, a procession will take place from the different parishes under the jurisdiction of the Vicariate of Palo. A Solemn High Mass will then be celebrated at the Cathedral at 5:30 in the afternoon, to be presided over by our Archbishop.

In relevance to the celebration, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has issued a pastoral letter: (http://bit.ly/40o5bhO)

Everyone is encouraged to participate and join in prayer for this intention and for our nation.

May Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA, continue to guide our nation toward truth, justice, and lasting peace.

📣 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

Please be guided by the following important schedules;

𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟵 (𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆), there will be no Mass due to the Clergy Penitential Walk.

𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬 (𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆), the Stations of the Cross will be held inside the Church at 5:00 PM and will continue every Friday during the Lenten Season.

𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟭 (𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆), the Parish Synodal Assembly will take place at 8:00 AM.

𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟴 (𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆), the Reflection, Renewal, and Commissioning of Ministries will be held at 1:00 PM, and all ministries are encouraged to participate actively in these meaningful activities as we grow together in faith and service.

𝗙𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟭𝟰

St. Valentine was a 3rd‑century Christian priest and martyr who lived during the Roman Empire under Emperor Claudius II. He is remembered for his acts of compassion and courage, including secretly performing marriages for Christian couples at a time when such practices were forbidden. Tradition also tells of his kindness in healing the sick, such as restoring sight to a blind girl.

Because of his devotion and sacrifice, Valentine became venerated as the patron saint of lovers, happy marriages, beekeepers, and even those suffering from epilepsy. His feast day, celebrated on February 14, gradually evolved into the modern Valentine’s Day, a festival of love and affection recognized around the world.
