St. Joachim Parish - San Joaquin Palo, Leyte The official page of the St. Joachim Parish, Brgy. San Joaquin, Palo, Leyte San Joaquin became a Parish on January 14, 1973 when Rev. Fr.

Jaime Segun was installed as the Parish Priest by Decree of Bishop Salvador. It had four barangays: Salvacion, Cogon, Cabarasan Guti and Cabarasan Daku. With the Approval of Archbishop Pedro Dean in the year 1997, nine barangays were added from the Parish of the Assumption of our Lady, Tanauan. The restored and expanded parish of San Joaquin was canonically erected on June 4, 1997.

The Feast of Pentecost is Here!

Today, we celebrate the glorious Feast of Pentecost — the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the Church.

What began in the Upper Room became a mission that changed the world forever. Filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, the Apostles went forth without fear to preach Christ crucified and risen. From that moment on, the Church began proclaiming the Gospel to every nation.

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not distant. He is alive and moving within the Church and within every faithful believer. He strengthens the weak, comforts the broken, enlightens the mind, and renews the soul.

Today is an invitation to open our hearts once more to God’s Spirit. Let His fire burn away fear, sin, hatred, and doubt. Let Him fill us with courage, faith, wisdom, and love.

May we become living witnesses of Christ in our homes, communities, and daily lives.

Come, Holy Spirit!
Fill the hearts of Your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of Your love. 🔥

Good day parishioners!

The St. Joachim Parish is very happy to invite everyone, specially our young people, to join this year's celebration of Flores de Mayo starting on May 1 to 31, 2026.

Flores de Mayo is a special Marian devotion of the Catholic Church, observed on the month of May of each year, honoring Mary, mother of God as "the Queen of May".

Our daily activities include dance animations, catechism, praying the rosary and novena, offering of flowers to the image of Mother Mary, and sharing of homemade delicacies and snacks given by our daily sponsors.

This year, the parish is looking forward to spending time with our kids and teaching them the main beliefs and doctrines of the Catholic Church.
