The journey to World Youth Day 2027 begins here!

The Archdiocese of Palo is opening the doors for youth, young adults, and adults who desire to journey with the Church, encounter Christ, and experience the joy of being part of a young and vibrant Church from the Philippines and around the world.

This is more than a trip. It is a pilgrimage. It is a journey of faith. It is an invitation to encounter Christ—and to discover that we never walk alone.

Experience the Days in the Diocese from July 29 to August 2, 2027, and the World Youth Day proper from August 3 to 8, 2027.

If you are serving in a parish or faith community and a student of an RCAP school, this journey may be for you! Make sure that you:
📌 have a valid Passport until January 2028,
📌 are eligible to secure documents for Korean Visa,
📌 are capable to cover the financial expense of the travel and the pilgrimage,
📌 are ready to attend all interviews, discernment, and formations before, during, and after the WYD 2027.

Application Deadline is on September 2, 2026

Secure the appropriate endorsement, accomplish the local application, and take the first step toward WYD Seoul 2027.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Safeguarding Office: Protection of children and vulnerable adults in the Archdiocese of Palo, is the Office tasked with receiving reports of any incident of abuse towards minors and vulnerable adults in the Archdiocese. The Office receives every concern presented and takes every matter with utmost seriousness.

In this regard, we respectfully appeal to any individual who may have been directly affected, as well as to anyone who has personal knowledge or credible information regarding any form of abuse within the Archdiocese of Palo, to come forward and contact the Safeguarding Office, so that any problem regarding this matter will be addressed immediately.

Any information shared with our office will be received with due sensitivity, respect for confidentiality, and in accordance with the safeguarding policies and procedures of the Archdiocese of Palo.

Victimizing young ones, children or vulnerable adults is unacceptable in the Catholic Church. And we would like this abominable action to stop. Thank you for your concern not only in our community but also in our church. We continue working together to address and definitely avoid incidents of abuse.

𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

During the Tacloban Vicariate Youth Day on 6 June 2026, the Taclo BATA an formally conducted the turnover of the Vicariate Youth Coordinatorship and other key leadership positions, marking a renewed commitment to youth ministry in the vicariate.

The Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Council (AYCC) expresses its sincere appreciation to Ate Kristel Doone Pedroza for her dedicated service and leadership among the youth of the Vicariate of Tacloban. Her contributions have helped strengthen the mission of the Church among young people, and the council prays for God's guidance in her future endeavors.

The AYCC also warmly welcomes Ate Liberty Palacio of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish as the new Vicariate Youth Coordinator. As she assumes this important role, the council looks forward to journeying with her in continuing to build vibrant, faith-filled, and mission-oriented youth communities throughout the vicariate and the Archdiocese of Palo.

𝐂𝐁𝐂𝐏 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲

The First National Youth Directors' Assembly of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Youth (CBCP-ECY) gathers youth directors from across the country on June 4–6, 2026, in Quezon City.

Representing the Archdiocese of Palo is Rev. Fr. Jaime Jhemboy Varona, Archdiocesan Youth Assistant Director, joining fellow youth ministers in prayer, dialogue, and discernment for the future of youth ministry in the Philippines.

The assembly formally opened with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Elias Ayuban, CMF, and Bishop Bartolome Santos Jr. In his keynote message, CBCP-ECY Chairman and Bishop of San Pablo, Most Rev. Marcelino Antonio M. Maralit Jr., reminded youth directors that God has always entrusted His mission to the young. Drawing inspiration from the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was called at a young age to become the Mother of Christ, he emphasized that the Lord does not wait for people to become older before inviting them to participate in His saving work.

Among the significant discussions during the assembly is the updating of Kalakbay: The Directory of Youth Ministry in the Philippines, a vital guide that continues to shape and strengthen youth ministry across the nation.

May this gathering inspire youth ministers to accompany young people more faithfully, helping them discover that they are not only the NOW of the Church but an essential part of her mission.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙤 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙢𝙖𝙥

Following the journey of LAUM, LAKAT, LARAB during the Jubilee Year of Hope 2025, and through a synodal process of listening and discernment, the Archdiocese of Palo Commission on Youth developed the LAKAT Document—In Corde Communitatis—a guide for accompanying young people in faith and mission.

This guide became the foundation for the creation of the Archdiocesan Youth Roadmap, crafted during the LARAB Archdiocesan Youth Leaders and Young Adults Conference 2025 and formally presented to Most Rev. John F. Du during the Missioning Mass of the Archdiocesan Youth Summit Conference 2026.

More than a strategic direction, this roadmap is a shared path—a journey where every young person encounters Christ, grows in faith, discovers their vocation, and finds a home in the Church. Like the loaves and fish offered by a young boy to Jesus, we humbly offer this roadmap to our Archbishop and to the Archdiocese as our small gift, trusting that through God's grace it will nourish generations of young disciples and bear abundant fruit for the Kingdom.

ASYC may have ended, but what was ignited here continues to burn within us. We came as delegates… we leave renewed, strengthened, and ready to live what we have received. 🏕️✨
