On August 8, 2026, the Synodal Implementation Assembly at St. Theresa of Calcutta Mission Station in Brgy. Castilla, Palo, Leyte gathered a small but dedicated group whose listening hearts enriched the Conversation in the Spirit and plenary sharing. The Vicariate of Palo Synodal Team, led by Marivic Quiero, expressed gratitude for the presence of Rev. Fr. Peter Ayaso, whose message greatly helped participants understand the Synodal Process of Implementation toward a Synodal Church. The generosity of the Canossian Sisters and the dedication of the speakers and facilitators. While the challenge of limited participation was felt, the hope and prayer remain that more faithful will join—walking together as one Church, one Body of Christ, united towards a truly Synodal Church. The day was further graced with the birthday celebration of Blanca Cercado, a committed, active, and dynamic member of the Synodal Team, speaker on the Synod on Synodality during this time of Synod Implementation, and an active parish leader of St. Joachim Parish. Truly, this gathering testified that strength lies not in numbers but in sincere dialogue, shared mission, and the Spirit’s guidance, reminding us that God’s providence sustains the journey of communion, participation, and mission.

🌍 Towards the 2027 Assemblies of the Local Churches: the "Recollecting" resource is here.
👉The General Secretariat of the Synod today publishes the Notes entitled "Recollecting," a resource to accompany the local Churches — Dioceses and Eparchies — as they prepare and celebrate their evaluation Assembly in the first semester of 2027.
"Evaluation is not a technical exercise, but an experience of gratitude and truth," says Card Mario Grech , Secretary General of the Synod. "Recollecting means recognizing what the Lord has brought to maturity in the journey of our communities and allowing ourselves to be guided towards the next steps."

Addressed first of all to Bishops, Eparchs and synodal teams, the Notes do not propose a model to apply, but a way of proceeding — questions, criteria and practical guidance to be adapted to each local context. The document accompanies the drafting of the Narrative Report and the preparation of the evaluation Assembly, from which will also emerge a 📬"Letter to the Other Churches," echoing the litterae communionis of the early Church.
🚶One step in a broader journey towards the ecclesial Assembly of October 2028. 🙏
