On October 2, 2026 to 9PM, the 2nd Online Meeting of the Tacloban Vicariate Central Lay Synodal Team was successfully conducted and presided over by Ms. Anabelle Tenebro, Coordinator. The meeting focused on the final preparations for the upcoming Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Synodal Assembly, providing an opportunity for the team to discuss key plans, coordinate responsibilities, and ensure the smooth conduct of the assembly.

On September 30, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:41 PM, the Synod Team of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Tacloban Vicariate-Central, gathered in an online meeting via Zoom. The session was presided over by Ms. Arabelle Tenebro, Synod Coordinator, as part of the parish’s preparations for the upcoming Parish Synodal Assembly on October 10, 2026.The meeting was marked by attentive listening, collaborative planning, and a shared spirit of readiness. Team members reflected on their responsibilities and coordinated efforts to ensure meaningful participation in the forthcoming assembly. Guided by the principles of communion, participation, and mission, the Synod Team reaffirmed its commitment to journeying together as one Church, discerning the voice of the Spirit, and preparing hearts and minds for the synodal encounter.

Part 3- During the Synodal Assembly at St. Josemaria Escriva Parish, Apitong, Tacloban City on September 19, 2026, participants first expressed their feelings and the fruits of their Conversation in the Spirit.
The heartfelt message of Rev. Fr. Eduardo Tantuico (Parish Priest), he emphasized living as a true Church (mag-ukoy sa simbahanong kinabuhi), being a model to others, offering genuine service, and recognizing the BEC as the face and expression of a Synodal Church. His words moved everyone into silence, inviting deep reflection.
The assembly then formed a large circle and sang together “Hawak Kamay” by Yeng Constantino, a symbol of unity and solidarity.
Before departing, they captured the moment with a group picture, followed by a simple and humble recognition of the resource facilitator from the Palo Synodal Team.

Part 2- On September 19, 2026, the Synodal Assembly at St. Josemaria Escriva Parish, Apitong, Tacloban City continued with the conversations in the Spirit. The process was guided by Vicvic Apostol Polistico Pasayloon, member of the Palo Synodal Team, together with Juliet Aguirre, Parish Lay Synodal Coordinator, and Arabelle Tenebro, Vicariate of Tacloban Central Lay Coordinator. Their facilitation helped parish leaders, councils, ministries, youth, Knights of the Altar, and BEC servant leaders to listen, share, and discern together, ensuring that diverse voices contributed to the journey of communion and mission. This moment reflected the essence of a Synodal Church—leaders guiding with openness, communities collaborating with joy, and the faithful walking side by side on the pathways of renewal.

Part 1 IN PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ♥️
On September 19, 2026, the St. Josemaria Escriva Parish Synodal Assembly in Apitong, Tacloban City brought together a wide representation of the parish community. The gathering was opened with the Holy Eucharist, presided by Rev. Fr. Eduardo Tantuico, Parish Priest.
Present were members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), Parish Finance Council (PFC), parish leaders, ministry coordinators, the youth, the Knights of the Altar, and committed BEC servant leaders.
The assembly embodied the spirit of synodality—listening, dialogue, and discernment—where each group shared perspectives and affirmed their shared mission.This event reflected the living reality of a Synodal Church, journeying together in communion and service, guided by the Holy Spirit and strengthened by the Eucharist.

Delegates toured Tacloban and Palo’s landmarks, warmly welcomed by Hon. Jericho Petilla, Governor of Leyte.

August 18, 2026- Immediately after the morning session and lunch at the St. John the Evangelist School of Theology (SJEST), Archbishop Charles John Brown, D.D., Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, departed back to Manila at 1:30PM. His travel was secured by local police officers, including airport police personnel, ensuring safety and order. He was accompanied by Jury Faloria, Tacloban PAL Manager, together with Most Rev. John F. Du, D.D., Archbishop of Palo, Rev. Fr. Gwen Padagdag, and the Council of the Laity officers headed by Dr. Edna B. Ayaso.
This moment reflected the careful coordination and the spirit of communion among clergy, laity, and civic authorities, ensuring a dignified and secure send-off for the Papal Nuncio.

Late upload- better late than never🥰😍👍🫣
Day 2 – August 18, 2026 (Morning Session). The 70th National Assembly of the Pontifical Mission Societies of the Philippines continued on its second day, hosted by the St. John the Evangelist School of Theology (SJEST).
After the Opening Prayer at 9:30 AM, the delegates engaged in a Question and Answer session with Archbishop Charles John Brown, D.D., Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, alongside Most Rev. John F. Du, D.D., Archbishop of Palo and Msgr. Esteban Lo (PMS President).
From 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, participants were invited to raise questions concerning the life and mission of the Church. This dialogue provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection, deepening the delegates’ understanding of the Church’s missionary identity and strengthening the bonds of communion between the Papal Nuncio, the Archbishop, clergy, seminarians, religious & lay leaders.
This session highlighted the synodal spirit of dialogue and the missionary call to communion, affirming the Assembly’s purpose of unity in Christ and united in mission.

Day 2 – August 18, 2026 (Morning) 🚐The delegates of the 70th National Assembly of the Pontifical Mission Societies - Philippines traveled in convoy to the St. John the Evangelist School of Theology (SJEST). Their journey was smoothly guided by Tacloban City Traffic Operations Management Enforcement and Control Office (TOMECO) on the Tacloban side and the Palo Traffic Operations (PATO) on the Palo side, ensuring safe and orderly passage.
Upon arrival, the delegates, together with Archbishop Charles John Brown, D.D., Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, and Most Rev. John F. Du, D.D., Archbishop of Palo, were warmly welcomed by the seminarians and clergy of SJEST. The greeting reflected the spirit of hospitality and missionary communion.
