DAILY GOSPEL:
Matthew 24:42-51

He’s coming back when you least expect it.
IJesus gives us a major reality check: We don't know the day or the hour, but we DO know our assignment. Are you living like the faithful servant, or hitting the snooze button on your faith?
Don't get caught sleeping. Stay alert, stay faithful, and keep doing the work!

"So stay awake, because you do not know the day when your master is coming.
You may be quite sure of this, that if the householder had known at what time of the night the burglar would come, he would have stayed awake and would not have allowed anyone to break through the wall of his house.
Therefore, you too must stand ready because the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
'Who, then, is the wise and trustworthy servant whom the master placed over his household to give them their food at the proper time?
Blessed that servant if his master's arrival finds him doing exactly that.
In truth I tell you, he will put him in charge of everything he owns.
But if the servant is dishonest and says to himself, "My master is taking his time,"
And sets about beating his fellow-servants and eating and drinking with drunkards,
So his master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know.
The master will cut him off and send him to the same fate as the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth."

Can anything good come from Nazareth?"
Stop scrolling for a second. What if He is exactly who He says He is?
Come and see.
"John 1:45-51"
Philip found Nathanael and told him,
“We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”
But Nathanael said to him,
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
“Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him.”
Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
Nathanael answered him,
“Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Do you believe
because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
You will see greater things than this.”
And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will see heaven opened and the angels of God
ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Then he strictly ordered his disciples
to tell no one that he was the Christ.

What do you say about Jesus? Is He your friend, a superman, or a brother?
Jesus had been with His disciples for 3 years. He wanted to know: “Do you really know Me?”
He asked, “Who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
“Christ” means the One chosen by God.
Jesus is chosen by God to do a special mission—to save us from sin and bring us back to God’s friendship.
Jesus will do this by loving us to the end—by suffering on the cross, dying, and rising again to give us new life and heaven.

Gather your worries, your hopes, and every unspoken prayer, and bring them to the altar tomorrow. The Holy Mass is the most powerful prayer we have—Jesus is ready to carry it all for you

Don't lose hope. Don't give up on God. He hasn’t given up on you.

The Digital Catechists of the Archdiocese of Palo released this statement in response to the tragic shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City on June 22, 2026.

STATEMENT

The recent tragedy at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City has deeply saddened us. We offer our heartfelt prayers for the students who lost their lives, for those who were injured, and for their families, classmates, teachers, and the entire community.

This painful incident reminds us that forming the hearts of young people is a shared responsibility of families, schools, the Church, and the whole community. While education is important, children also need to grow in faith, love, respect, compassion, responsibility, and strong moral values. Purity, honesty, dedication, and commitment should also be nurtured among the young people of today. These are first nurtured at home and strengthened through the guidance of schools, the Church, and caring communities.

As Digital Catechists, we renew our commitment to use social media to bring young people closer to Jesus Christ. We believe that by proclaiming the Gospel and sharing God's love online, we can help inspire hope, build character, strengthen faith, and remind every child and young person that they are loved, valued, and created in the image and likeness of God.

May this tragedy move all of us to work together in building families and communities rooted in faith, truth, and compassion, so that our children may grow into people who choose love over violence and hope over despair. Let us continue to pray for lasting healing, peace, and God's guidance for everyone.

May God, the source of all goodness and wisdom, lead us to lives of wholeness and harmony, and help us build loving and peaceful families and communities.
