John 6:1-15
Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much of the fish as they wanted. When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples, "Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted." So they collected them, and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat.

This was the scene of the MIRACULOUS FEEDING of the five thousand as described in today's Gospel. This is the only miracle, other than the RESURRECTION, that is told in all four Gospels. This proves of its IMPORTANCE to the early Church. This Gospel invites us to become humble INSTRUMENTS of GOD by SHARING our BLESSINGS with our brothers and sisters. The message of this MIRACLE of LOAVES is that, no matter how impossible our situation we are in, with DIVINE help everything will fall in God's loving plan. "For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Lk 1:37). This episode REMINDS us that selfishness blocks the grace God is giving, for only true LOVE can create MIRACLE that will benefit His people. Let us cherish the EUCHARIST (as early Christians did) that we may be BREAD, BROKEN, and SHARED. God cannot create a miracle without giving our share. Be God's miracle of love for others.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, You have given me everything more than I need. When I think I have nothing to offer, help me to count my blessings that I may be able to share and bless others.
Amen

Mark 16:9-15
Later, as the Eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believe those who saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature."

Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene. But the disciples did not believe her. Later he appeared to two disciples during their trip to Emmaus. Upon returning to Jerusalem, Jesus appeared to the eleven gathered there. After gently confronting them for their unbelief and hard-heartedness, Jesus gave them His PREACHING MISSION to proclaim the MANDATE of the Gospel. All Christians have the OBLIGATION of working to bring all men and women to HEAR and ACCEPT the Divine message of Salvation. By our Baptism, we are all commissioned to PREACH the Gospel (CCC 1213). Let not our sins hinder us to INVITE others into the family of God. FAITH is not a private act. It always brings us into a deeper relationship with our brothers and sisters who believe in the same God. It is time to PROCLAIM our FAITH by LIVING the mandatum of LOVE. Share it and defuse the POWER of the Resurrection.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, may I always dwell on the good You have done for us and on Your promise to those who put their trust in You. We thank You Jesus for taking up your life again and leading us to the the home You have prepared for us. I will follow You with all my heart. As I do it may I bring others to heaven.

John 21:1-14
Jesus said to them, "Come, have breakfast." None of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" because they realized it was the Lord. Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them, in like manner the fish. This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples after being raised from the dead.

After the event of the RESURRECTION Peter might have been mulling over his past infidelities. Thus, he went back to his ordinary life trying to forget what happened. Fishing is the best way to make himself forget everything. John presents this incident as the third of Jesus post-Resurrection appearances to tell the community that Jesus APPEARANCES were not merely hallucinations. God works in MYSTERIOUS WAYS. Peter who ran away during Jesus' condemnation is now FEARLESS before the Jewish elders. He boldly WITNESSED to Jesus' marvelous deed, and is now doing MIRACLES in His Name. Peter strength comes from the power of the Holy Spirit who uses the weak, the humble, the simple, and the poor to do great things for God. As follower of the Resurrected Christ, we need to put on a new way of thinking. As REDEEMED Christians, let us be loving, humble, merciful, fair and compassionate.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, You have proven Your love for us by providing us many things more than our need. Help me to put my trust in You that I may never seek other things more than the treasures of heaven. Let my life be a living example of the fruit of Your Resurrection.

Luke 24:35-48
Jesus stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." But they were terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost. He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have."

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it." The events of the RESURRECTION is so beautiful that we cannot contain it in just one day celebration. We need the whole week to ponder it and let the light of this JOYFUL DAY sink ever deeper into our hearts. The TRUTH of the Resurrection must be accepted with an open heart to make it meaningful. For we could not comprehend the depth of God's LOVE for us had He not come among us as a man. Jesus revealed Himself to us by Preaching, Healing, and Expelling demons- and then gave His life for us on the Cross. He is truly Human and DIVINE but He is not a ghost. His Wounds were the SIGNS of His love for us. A REALITY that cannot be questioned. What is life without GOD. Today we are invited to look at His HANDS and FEET, and SEE JESUS HIMSELF. For through these WOUNDS Jesus has shared our suffering - now He shares His Resurrection.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, sorry for not truly believing. Strengthen my faith that in spite of trials I may stand like a warrior whose faithfulness is beyond questioned. May I identify my wounds to Your wounds.

Luke 24:13-35
Two of them were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus, they were conversing about all the things that had occurred. It happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
They said to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scripture to us?"
They recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

Christ is risen! Today, we are invited to focus on JESUS by celebrating EASTER with JOY in our HEARTS. Let not other concerns sn**ch us from JOURNEYING to reach the DESTINY HE has planned for us. The HOPE it brings is beyond what this world can give us. Instead of walking away, let us WAIT to see what God is doing. Start opening and reading the SCRIPTURE if we want to understand and know what GOD is doing for us. In EMMAUS God does not just want to spend time with us but desires to REMAIN with us. In our journey, let our body and soul walk with HIM that we may be assured to go back to our "JERUSALEM."

Prayer
Lord Jesus, forgive me for not recognizing You in the many events in my life. I am too busy entertaining my little concern. Instead of putting my trust in You, I become so consumed of what I want in life and not what You desire for me. May I see and worship You in every Breaking of Bread I am attending.

John 20:11-18
Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, I will take him.'" Jesus said, "Mary!" She turned and said, "Rabbouni." Jesus said. "Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, i am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

We claim that we are BELIEVERS of our Lord Jesus Christ but failed to recognize Him who is in our midst, in our brothers and sisters. In the Gospel - they handed their long-awaited MESSIAH over to the Roman authorities to be crucified. Mary Magdalene did not recognize Jesus and think He is the gardener, failed to see the very one for whom she is searching. It is really hard to see the PRESENCE of GOD in our midst, even when He is near to us. In the ordinariness of life it seems God is absent. No wonder we tend to seek Him in extraordinary events (like miracles) in our lives - like the Jews who expect a great king. Today we are back to our usual life. No sacrifice for others, charity set aside. Busy focusing on gaining things for ourselves. What kind of Jesus are we looking? May we follow Mary Magdalene SEEK Him with an open HEART.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to gaze on You that I may rejoice on Your Resurrection. May I find You even in simple and ordinary people, events, and things in life. Let me put YOU as my only priority.
Amen

Matthew 28:8-15
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to tell his disciples. Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They came to him, took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid, go and tell my brothers and sisters to go to Galilee: there they will see me."

The invitation of Jesus is to go to Galilee and there 'they will see Him'. It's the same invitation He gives to us. 'GALILEE' can be the neighbourhood, the family, the poor, the lonely prison cells, the sick, the desperate, the hopeless, and the many moments we find ourselves aware of JESUS' PRESENCE.
God is present in the memories of past love and the joys of present love. We find him in our tears and laughter, and in the lovely light of another beautiful day. Whatever situation we are in, we can find Him because HE IS RISEN. He is no longer bound by time or place. He is our Lord and Savior. Let the JOY of EASTER consumes us, for we are Easter People and our song is ALLELUIA! The stone has been rolled, we are liberated, saved, and redeemed. Fear is useless and death is not the end but the doorway to the LIFE HE has WON for us. Time to meet and WORSHIP JESUS OUR LORD.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, we celebrate Your Resurrection that gives us unending hope. Let this be the source of immense joy in spite of the challenges that comes my way. Grant me the grace to see You as these women did on their way back from the tomb.

EASTER SUNDAY
Matthew 28:1-10
The angel said, "He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.' This is my message for you." So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Today, we proclaim that JESUS IS RISEN! He Himself testiify to His RESURRECTION from the dead, giving it as a sign of
His DIVINITY. A fulfillment of what He said, "Tear down this temple and in three days I will build it again" (Jn 2:19). The RESURRECTION of Our Lord Jesus challenge us to get out of our TOMB - our comfort zone, evil habits, dangerous addiction despair, discouragement, or doubts and LIVE as true REDEEMED CHRISTIANS that others may experience the Risen CHRIST through the life we live even in the midst of suffering, trials, and tribulations. Let every act of love, forgiveness, compassion, and mercy be an expression that we are EASTER PEOPLE. Easter reminds us that life is worth living, for we are not destined to die but to share God's life. LIVE and SHARE

Prayer
Lord Jesus, Your Resurrection brought us to the realization that we are loved for You have given us life eternal. Help us to seek things that are above. Bring me to a deep faith in Jesus' Resurrection.
Amen

Good Friday of the
Passion of the Lord
John 18: 1-19:42
Jesus said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." From that hour the disciple took her into his home. Aware that everything was now finished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I thirst." There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, "It is finished." Bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

Today, Jesus continued to demonstrate His Kingship on the Passover. He was judged by the High Priest and taken to Pilate in the place of Herod in Jerusalem, an obvious place for a king's enthronement. We reflect on Jesus's Eternal Kingship and His REIGN in or HEARTS this GOOD FRIDAY. Today, may we imitate Nicodemus and mourn with the whole Church as we boldly proclaim this day that our King has been crucified. Let us REJECT something of the world that does not liberate and make a sacrifice so we can accompany Jesus Christ on the CROSS until death even for a small thing, for I know His Love is more than I can comprehend.

Prayer
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Help me to make a sacrifice of this so I can accompany you on the cross until the end. May I follow You and walk in Your love. Let the fruit of passion be my consolation in all adversity that comes my way that I may be courageous in loving You.
Amen

Holy Wednesday
Matthew 26:14-25
One of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" They paid him thirty pieces of silver. From that time on, he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.
The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born. Judas, his betrayer, said in reply, " Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" He answered, "You have said so."

HOLY WEEK makes us reflect on the kind of life we lived. Today, we continue to EXAMINE our conscience in the light of the disturbing words of Jesus: "One of you will betray me." This is a real question we need to ask ourselves. We cannot simply point to Judas and said, surely it is JUDAS! The one who BETRAYED Jesus. To judge others is to judge oneself. For the SINS committed by our brothers and sisters are just REFLECTION of our own sins. Instead of pointing fingers to others, ask ourselves: "Am I the one Jesus is referring to?" Allow this question to linger in our minds and eventually reach our hearts that it may respond to the CALL of going back to God to recognize our sins and be RECONCILED with HIM.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I know that every sin is a betrayal of Your love for us. You so loved us that You do not want to judge us. Instead, gives us the opportunity to repent. Help me, my Lord, that I may be faithful to You.
Amen

Holy Tuesday
John 13:21-33,36-38
After he took the morsel, Satan entered him. So Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly." Now none of those reclining at the table realized why he said this to him. Some thought that since Judas kept the money bag, Jesus had told him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or to give something to the poor. So he took the morsel and left at once.

Judas betrayal was too selfish and greedy. No wonder he was looking for an opportunity to hand Jesus over so he could collect the thirty pieces of silver (Mt 26:14-16). We are all guilty, for we desire for - more than what we received. Let us ask ourselves, "What do we have to gain when we sin? Momentary pleasure, wealth, power, popularity, and even pride. No matter what we gain, it is never worth the cost of the pain it causes Jesus, others, and ourselves. Christ gave His life for us in the ultimate act of KENOSIS a SELF-GIVING love. We, too, live by the LAW of the GIFT for we are most FULFILLED when we lovingly GIVE ourselves to others. This reflects the LOVE of God for all of us. It is not money nor power which can give us fulfillment, for "man cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of himself" (Gaudium et Spes, 24).

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come to You asking for Your forgiveness, as I contemplate Your passion and death. As I walk with You this Holy Week, make my every step worthy of Your love that I may partake with joyful heart in Your resurrection.

Palm Sunday of the
Passion of the Lord
Mt 26:14-27:66
Mt 27:11-54 (shorter form)
(The Passion of Christ)
Jesus said, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'the teacher says, 'My appointed time draws near; in your house, I shall celebate the Passover with my disciples." The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered and prepared the Passover . . .

The Church celebrates the Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday. This is the point in the Liturgical year when the Church stops us so that we can remember and relive the events that brought about our redemption and salvation. Here, we commemorate and RELIVE not just the dying and rising of Jesus, but also our own dying to sin and selfishness. The VICTORY of Jesus will result in our HEALING, RECONCILIATION, and REDEMPTION. Thus, it is necessary that we need to be ATTENTIVE to participating in the HOLY WEEK Liturgy, for it will deepen our understanding of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord and eventually strengthen our FAITH. Let Holy Week be a week of REMEMBRANCE and APPRECIATION of God's LOVE for all of us. Right time for us to give thanks. A time to recognize that we are sinners. A time of repentance and reconciliation. Living in His commandment of Agape LOVE. Gazing on His meekness and self-sacrifice, we strengthen our FAITH and relationship with God.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to enter the mystery of Your Passion that I may learn to sacrifice and be filled with gratitude so I may offer my life to You.
Amen
