Acts 2:42-47

They devoted themselves
to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life,

Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve,
was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
But he said to them,
“Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Now a week later his disciples were again inside
and Thomas was with them.
Jesus came, although the doors were locked,
and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side,
and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

Now, Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples
that are not written in this book.
But these are written that you may come to believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬
𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥

The Church continues to rejoice in the Resurrection, nearing the completion of the Easter Octave, which will culminate in the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday. Each day remains a solemn proclamation that Christ is truly risen.

In the Gospel (Mark 16:9–15), the risen Jesus appears to His disciples and commissions them to go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel. Though some initially struggle to believe the witnesses of the Resurrection, the Lord Himself confirms the truth of His Resurrection and strengthens their faith.

This day highlights the mission that flows from Easter. The disciples, once fearful and uncertain, are now entrusted with the task of proclaiming the Good News to all creation. The Resurrection becomes the foundation of the Church’s mission.

As the Octave draws to a close, the Church remains in the joy of the risen Christ, preparing to celebrate the fullness of His mercy revealed to the world.

𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥

The Church continues to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection, proclaiming each day of the Octave as one great feast of the Lord’s victory over death. The Alleluia remains our song, for Christ is truly risen.

In the Gospel (John 21:1–14), the risen Jesus appears to His disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. After a night of unsuccessful fishing, He directs them to cast their nets once more, resulting in a great catch. In this moment, they recognize Him, and He shares a meal with them.

This encounter reveals the risen Lord who provides, guides, and remains present with His disciples. It also recalls their original call, now renewed in the light of the Resurrection. In the simple act of sharing a meal, Christ makes Himself known and strengthens their faith.

In this Easter season, the Church proclaims that the risen Christ continues to meet His people in the ordinary moments of life, leading them, providing for them, and calling them to deeper communion with Him.

In this Easter season, the Church proclaims that the risen Christ brings peace, strengthens faith, and sends His disciples on mission. The Resurrection is not only to be believed, but to be proclaimed.

𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥

The Church continues her celebration of the Resurrection, rejoicing in the risen Christ whose victory over death brings new life to the world. Each day within the Octave is lived as one great feast, echoing the joy of Easter Sunday.

In the Gospel (Luke 24:13–35), the risen Jesus walks with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Though they do not recognize Him at first, He opens the Scriptures to them and reveals how all that had happened was part of God’s saving plan. It is only in the breaking of the bread that their eyes are opened, and they recognize Him.

This encounter shows how the risen Lord is made known through the Word and the Eucharist. From sorrow and confusion, the disciples are led to faith and joy, and they immediately return to share the good news with others.

In this Easter season, the Church proclaims that Christ walks with His people, enlightening hearts and revealing His presence, especially in the Scriptures and in the breaking of the bread.

The Church continues her joyful celebration of the Resurrection, living each day of the Octave as one great solemnity. The Alleluia resounds, as the faithful rejoice in Christ’s victory over sin and death.

In the Gospel (John 20:11–18), Mary Magdalene encounters the risen Lord at the tomb. At first, she does not recognize Him, thinking He is the gardener. But when Jesus calls her by name, her eyes are opened, and she recognizes Him. She is then sent to proclaim to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord.”

𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥

The joy of Easter does not end on Easter Sunday. The Church celebrates the Octave of Easter as one continuous solemnity—eight days as one “great Sunday,” rejoicing in the Resurrection of the Lord.

On this day, the Gospel (Matthew 28:8–15) recounts how the women, filled with both fear and great joy, encounter the risen Christ and are sent to proclaim the good news to the disciples. At the same time, the guards are instructed to spread a false story, revealing that even the truth of the Resurrection is met with resistance.

The liturgy emphasizes the reality of the Resurrection—not as an idea, but as an event witnessed and proclaimed. The risen Christ is truly alive, and He entrusts His followers with the mission to announce this victory over sin and death.

Throughout the Octave, the Church continues to proclaim the “Alleluia,” celebrating the triumph of Christ and the new life He brings. Each day invites the faithful to remain in the joy of Easter and to live as witnesses of the Resurrection.

𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬
𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗟 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗬 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧

The Easter Vigil is the “mother of all vigils,” the most solemn and sacred celebration of the entire liturgical year. Held during the night, it is the Church’s watch in anticipation of the Resurrection of Christ, moving from darkness into the fullness of light.

The celebration begins with the Service of Light, where the new fire is blessed and the Paschal Candle is lit. As the light spreads through the darkened church, the faithful proclaim that Christ is the Light of the world. The Exsultet is then sung, announcing the glory of this holy night.

This is followed by the Liturgy of the Word, a series of readings that recount the history of salvation—from creation, through the covenant, to the promise of redemption. After this long vigil of listening, the Church breaks into joy with the singing of the Gloria, as bells ring once more, and the Alleluia is proclaimed again after its silence during Lent.

In the Liturgy of Baptism, catechumens are baptized, confirmed, and welcomed into the Church. The faithful also renew their baptismal promises, reaffirming their share in Christ’s victory over sin and death.

Finally, in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the Church celebrates the risen Christ, making present the Paschal Mystery. The Vigil culminates in the joy of the Resurrection, as the Church proclaims that Christ has conquered death and opened the way to new life.

The Easter Vigil is the night of hope fulfilled—the passage from death to life, from darkness to light, in the Resurrection of the Lord.

𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬
𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬

Holy Saturday is a day of great silence and waiting. The Church remains at the Lord’s tomb, contemplating His Passion and Death, and awaiting His Resurrection.

On this day, no Mass is celebrated, and the altar remains bare. The faithful are invited to a spirit of prayer and quiet reflection, meditating on Christ who has descended into death and now rests in the tomb. It is a time marked by stillness, as the Church pauses between the sorrow of the Cross and the joy of the Resurrection.

The tradition of the Church also speaks of Christ’s descent into the realm of the dead, where He brings the light of salvation to those who awaited Him. Thus, even in the silence of this day, the work of redemption continues.

Holy Saturday teaches us to wait in hope—to remain faithful even in darkness, trusting in the promise that life will overcome death.

𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗗'𝗦 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡

Good Friday is the day when the Church solemnly commemorates the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a day of fasting, abstinence, and deep prayer, as the faithful contemplate the mystery of the Cross—the saving sacrifice through which the world is redeemed.

On this day, the Church does not celebrate the Holy Mass. Instead, she gathers for the Celebration of the Passion of the Lord, which consists of the Liturgy of the Word, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. The Gospel proclaims the Passion according to John, recounting the suffering, crucifixion, and death of Christ.

During the Solemn Intercessions, the Church prays for all people—for the faithful, for those who do not believe in Christ, and for the whole world—expressing the universal power of His saving death. The Cross is then venerated, as the faithful come forward to honor the instrument of our salvation.

Communion is received from the hosts consecrated on Holy Thursday, emphasizing the unity of the Paschal Mystery. The altar remains bare, and the Church departs in silence, continuing her vigil at the Lord’s tomb.

Good Friday invites us to stand at the foot of the Cross, contemplating Christ who gives His life in perfect obedience to the Father and in complete love for humanity.
