Today, Holy Thursday, Rev. Fr. Archie Marane washed and kissed the feet of 12 inmates from Tambulig BJMP Jail (temporarily housed at Mabuhay, Molave, ZDS).

The rite commemorates Jesus Christ's Last Supper with the apostles.

The families of offenders are often the hidden victims of crime. Having a family member serve time in prison can have a huge impact on the entire family, with children often suffering the most following the consequences of their family’s separation.

The Prison Ministry of each parish can provide advice and guidance, mediation and advocacy for all family members. The support aims to help families:

1) Maintain relationships and make regular visits.

2) Cope with the change and impact on their lives.

3) Deal with the stigma of crime.

4) Understand the expectations of the criminal justice system.

Find out how we can be of support to the families especially the children of the prisoners who are the hidden and oftentimes forgotten victims of crime.

This Lenten season, let us all to keep busy with acts of mercy, and especially the call to visit the imprisoned.
