The major sacrifices we should offer to God are the sinners saved by the gospel through our preaching. In Romans 15, Paul says that he was “a minister of Christ Jesus to the nations, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, that the offering of the nations might be acceptable” (v. 16). Paul offered the Gentile believers saved through his preaching as a sacrifice to God. We all must have this kind of concept. How many people have you brought to Christ since you have been saved? As one of God’s priests, could you not bring one person to the Lord in one year, three hundred sixty-five days? This is logical and fair. If not, suppose you were the Lord, what would you say? I believe you would fire such a priest.

I thank the Lord that today in His recovery He is the High Priest in His humanity…We do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all respects like us, yet without sin (Heb. 4:15). Our Christ is the same as we are…He always sympathizes with our weaknesses in His humanity. He is the High Priest in His humanity taking care of us by cherishing us all the time.

Our purpose as believers is twofold, yet centered on one Person—Christ. On the positive side, we are here for His exhibition and expression. Our living, our speaking, and our being should manifest Christ, allowing Him to be seen through us as His testimony on the earth. On the negative side, we are here for the spiritual warfare. There is an enemy opposing God’s purpose, and we must stand with the Lord to deal with him. This is not by our own strength, but by being one with Christ, taking Him as our victory. Thus, our Christian life is both an expression and a battle—expressing Christ to fulfill God’s desire, and standing in Him to fight and overcome the enemy for God’s kingdom.

The measure of our service to bring others to God does not begin outwardly—it begins with our inward position before Him. The extent to which we can reconcile others into God is exactly the extent to which we ourselves are in God. If we are near to Him, living in fellowship, abiding in His presence, then spontaneously, we minister God to others. But if our experience of Him is shallow, our ability to bring others in will also be limited. The ministry of reconciliation is not merely a work—it is a matter of being. As in 2 Corinthians, the apostles could entreat others to be reconciled to God because they themselves were deeply in union with Him. Therefore, we must allow the Lord to gain more ground in us, to bring us further into Himself. Then, out of this inward reality, we can truly usher others not just to God, but into God Himself.

A prayer with authority is not a matter of asking God to do something outwardly; rather, it is a matter of being one with God inwardly. When we touch the Lord in spirit, we realize that His authority has already been given and established. Therefore, we do not remain in a position of pleading, but we stand in the position of faith, declaring what God has accomplished. This kind of prayer is not according to our feeling, but according to God’s will. As we abide in Him, His authority becomes our authority. Then, in oneness with Him, we can speak to every mountain, every obstacle, and every opposing thing, and command it to be removed. This is not our power, but the exercise of God’s authority through a man who is in union with Him.

The Lord Jesus is not only our Savior but also the heavenly Physician who comes to heal the deepest sickness within us—sin. No matter how broken or weak our spirit and soul may feel, He is able to restore us completely. He reaches into the innermost part of our being, renewing our spirit to fellowship with God and strengthening our soul to live righteously. Even if our outward circumstances or physical condition remain imperfect, His healing touches the core of who we are, giving us life, peace, and joy from within. Let us draw near to Him, for in His presence, our spirit is revived, our soul is healed, and we are strengthened to walk in His abundant life.

In order for a man to work for God, his inner man must be released. The fundamental problem with many servants of God is that their inner man cannot break out of their outer man. In order for the inner man to be released, it must break out of the outer man. We have to be clear that the first obstacle to our work is ourselves, not other things. If our inner man is an imprisoned, confined man, our spirit is shrouded and not easily released. If we have never learned to break through our outer man with our spirit, we cannot work for the Lord. Nothing frustrates us like the outer man. Whether or not our work will be effective depends on whether the Lord has broken down our outer man and whether the inner man can be released through our broken, outer man. This is a very fundamental issue. The Lord has to dismantle our outer man in order to make way for our inner man. As soon as the inner man is released, many sinners will be blessed and many Christians will receive grace.
