"Come one, come all!"
What an incredible week itâs been! This yearâs DVBS wasnât just a carnivalâit was a celebration of faith, a celebration of fun, and a celebration of Godâs never-ending love. With the theme "Step Right Up!", we wanted everyoneâkids, volunteers, and familiesâto feel like they were part of something exciting, something bigger than themselves. And wow, did God show up in amazing ways!
From the very beginning, our theme verse, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28), reminded us that no matter how crazy life gets, Jesus is always there, arms open wide. He was with us in every late-night planning session, every decoration hung, every nervous volunteer, and every child who walked through those doors. And by the last day? We could all look back and say, "God was in this place."
Throughout four unforgettable days, we explored life-changing truths that stirred our hearts and strengthened our faith:
Use the gifts God gave you, show Godâs love to someone new, thank God for forgiveness and share Godâs story with everyone! These truths were not just lessonsâthey were divine invitations to live differently, to love deeper, and to step forward in faith. Seeing 601 kids and volunteers laughing, singing, playing, and learning together was nothing short of miraculous. The energy, the hugs, the "aha!" moments when a Bible truth clickedâthose are the things weâll never forget.
To the superheroes behind the scenesâour amazing crewâyou are the real MVPs. You turned chaos into fun, blank stares into "Aha!" moments, and ordinary days into adventures. You showed up early, stayed up soooo late, and poured so much love into these kids. We see you, we appreciate you, and we definitely owe you coffee haha!
To the parents and familiesâthank you for trusting us with your kids, for the last-minute permission slips and for cheering them on every single day. Youâre the reason they walked in each day excited (and the reason they crashed hard by bedtime lol).
To everyone who donated, prayed, or even just asked, "Howâs DVBS going?"âyour amazing support meant more than you know. Whether it was snacks, supplies, financial, or even prayers, you helped make this week special - a thousand thank youus!
And to our KIDSâoh man, you were the best part. Your energy, your questions, your hilarious answers during lessons, and your pure joy reminded us why we do this. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we hope you leave knowing just how loved you areâby us, and by God.
As the curtains close on this yearâs DVBS, hereâs the real takeaway: we carry with us the call to âStep Right Up!âânot just onto a carnival stage, but into the adventure of following Jesus daily.
"Step Right Up!" isnât just a theme for a weekâitâs how weâre called to live. Every day, Jesus is inviting us to step closer, to trust deeper, and to follow Him with everything weâve got. The carnival might be over, but the adventure with God? Thatâs just getting started.
