In defending the ability of human reason to know God, the Church is expressing her confidence in the possibility of speaking about him to all men and with all men, and therefore of dialogue with other religions, with philosophy and science, as well as with unbelievers and atheists.

Since our knowledge of God is limited, our language about him is equally so. We can name God only by taking creatures as our starting point, and in accordance with our limited human ways of knowing and thinking.

FAMILY OF POPE LEO XIV HAS REPORTEDLY RECIEVE A BOMB THREAT.

Disturbing reports have emerged that the family of Pepe Leo XIV has received a bomb threat, raising serious concerns for their safety and the well-being of those around them. No family should ever have to endure such fear and uncertainty acts of intimidation and violence have no place in any humane and compassionate society.

We call on the authorities to act with urgency, diligence, and transparency ensuring a thorough investigation while providing immediate protection for the family and those potentially at risk. Situations like this remind us how vital it is for communities to stand united against fear and to uphold the values of safety, justice, and respect for human life.

In moments like these, let us remain calm and responsible. Avoid spreading unverified information that may cause unnecessary panic. Instead, let us choose to be sources of clarity, support, and strength for one another. Violence should never be normalized, and silence should never replace action when safety is at stake.

Together, let us promote peace, empathy, and unity not only in words but in how we respond as a community.

Prayer:
Lord, in the midst of fear and uncertainty, You are our refuge and strength. We entrust to You the family of Pepe Leo XIV surround them with Your protection and fill their hearts with peace. Calm their fears and replace anxiety with comfort and hope.

Guide the authorities with wisdom, courage, and compassion so that this situation may be resolved swiftly and peacefully. Prevent any harm, and let truth and justice prevail over fear and wrongdoing.

Help all of us become instruments of peace in our words, our actions, and our thoughts. Replace fear with faith, anger with understanding, and division with unity.

Catholicism in America is not fading. It is rising again.

After years of people assuming the Church was only declining, the picture in 2026 looks very different. The Catholic presence in the United States remains massive, deeply rooted, and increasingly visible. Millions of Americans still identify as Catholic, and in many places the Church is showing fresh momentum through new converts, adult baptisms, stronger public witness, and renewed cultural influence.

This matters. Because Catholicism is not just surviving in America — it is holding its ground and growing in relevance at a time when many people are spiritually lost, morally confused, and searching for something deeper. The beauty of the liturgy, the clarity of Catholic teaching, the strength of tradition, and the stability of the Church are drawing attention again.

Across the country, more people are rediscovering the historic faith. Some are returning after years away. Others are entering the Church for the first time. In an age of chaos, Catholicism offers order. In an age of empty trends, it offers truth. In an age of division, it offers continuity with 2,000 years of Christian history.

America may not be becoming fully Catholic overnight, but the signs are clear: Catholicism is gaining strength, confidence, and visibility again. The Church still stands as one of the most powerful spiritual forces in the nation.

And for many Americans, it is becoming not just an old tradition, but the answer to a modern crisis of meaning.

San Antonio Catholic Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller is defending Pope Leo XIV after the pontiff drew criticism from President Donald Trump for speaking out against the war in Iran.

Garcia-Siller, who leads about 1 million Catholics in South Texas, said the pope’s comments reflect "the message of the Gospel" and a call for "peace, reconciliation and diplomacy."
