There are seasons when following God feels confusing.

You prayed, yet the door remained closed.

You waited, yet nothing seemed to move.

You held on to God’s promise, but the road He chose felt much longer than the one you had planned.

At first, parang delay lang.

The story of Israel reminds us that God has always worked this way.

When God brought His people out of Egypt, there was a shorter road to the Promised Land. Yet He intentionally led them another way.

Why?

Because God saw a battle they were not yet ready to fight.

(Exodus 13:17–18)

The destination never changed.

Only the route did.

Because arriving at the promise was never God’s highest priority.

Preparing His people was.

God doesn’t delay because He wants to disappoint us.

He delays because He loves us enough to prepare us.

Years later, Moses explained why God led Israel through the wilderness.

(Deuteronomio 8:2)

The wilderness was never meant to destroy them.

It was meant to transform them.

Sa Egypt, Pharaoh shaped the way they lived.

Sa wilderness, God shaped the kind of people they would become.

Sa Egypt, they depended on what they could see.

Sa wilderness, they learned to depend on the God they could not see.

What looked like a detour was actually discipleship.

And maybe that’s exactly what God is doing in our lives today.

Because every delay can deepen our dependence on Him.

Every closed door can become His protection.

Every wilderness can become the place where our hearts are transformed.

So if you feel like God is taking you on the longer road, don’t lose heart.

The promise is still true.

The destination has not changed.

God wasn’t keeping His people from the Promised Land.

He was preparing His people for the Promised Land.

Maybe that’s what God is doing in your life today.

So don’t stop walking with Christ.

One day, you’ll look back and realize that the road you questioned was the very road God used to prepare you for the promise He had planned all along.

📖 "Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands." (Deuteronomy 8:2)
