Raindrops fell, but our faith stood firm✨

Today, August 27, 2026, the Parish of Sta. Monica-Oton meaningfully celebrated our 29th Patronal Fiesta. Despite the heavy downpour, the faithful braved the weather as we walked together in a solemn procession, proving that no storm can douse the fire of our devotion.

Our Eucharistic celebration was led by our Beloved Parish Priest, 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗗𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀, as the 𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵, with 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 "𝗝𝗼𝗷𝗼" 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗢𝗦𝗔, as the 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵, who delivered an inspiring homily that touched our hearts.

This year’s theme echoes brightly in our journey:
"Nagahiusa nga Parokya: Manugdala sang kasanag sang Pagtuo sa pagsunod sa kabuhi ni Sta. Monica sa Sinodanhon nga Pagpanglakaton"

Just like Santa Monica, who never faltered in her prayers through life’s torrential trials, we march onward as one united parish—carrying the light of faith through every rain and shadow.

Viva Santa Monica! Happy 29th Patronal Fiesta to the entire Sta. Monica-Oton parish community! 🙏✨

READ: As this World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly draws to a close, let us take to heart some of the inspiring words from the message of the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, for this year’s celebration with the theme: “I will never forget you” (Is 49:15).

May this celebration rekindle our cherished memories with our grandparents and the elderly, and move us to reach out to them—especially in this season of their lives when they most need to be remembered, honored, and assured that they are treasured, never forgotten, and never neglected.

With prayers and warm greetings, we extend our love to all grandparents and elderly in our families and in our community. Let us always make time to be with them, to care for them, and to show them how deeply they matter—while they are still with us.
