Synopsis:
River, a talented young actor in his early twenties, arrives at rehearsal for what seems like just another role in a family drama about a son caught between divorced parents. Under the guidance of the enigmatic Director Jim, River performs scenes depicting tense family confrontations. As rehearsals progress, something unsettling begins to happen: River’s own reality start to blur, the fictional father’s pain feels too familiar, the absent mother’s betrayal cuts too deep, and the anger and grief resonate in ways River can’t explain. Scene by scene, River uncovers devastating truths, and the more he performs, the more he loses his grip on what’s real and what’s scripted, where Director Jim’s words feel less like direction and more like a warning. But the truth remains just out of reach, waiting in the final scene he’s not ready to perform, where everything he thought he knew will go completely off script.
